Go PowerGP-1000HD 1000-Watt Heavy Duty Modified Sine Wave Inverter (1000)

I've got one of these hooked up to two 6 volt golf cart batteries wired in series. It runs power tools, charges tool batteries and works great. You can leave it on in standby mode and it draws virtually nothing. It runs small loads silently. When you turn on a big load the fan comes on. I like how this one allows me to hardware it to my application instead of having to use the built in outlets. The remote for it works great. I've been using mine for about 6 months now with no problems at all.Update: I tried to run some older power tools and they kept tripping the breaker. After doing some troubleshooting I discovered that I had used the wrong gauge wire for my connections. I was misguided by Amazon's "People who bought this item also bought..... " Amazon recommends an inverter wiring kit with 4 gauge cables. This inverter calls for 4/0 cable and someone probably confused that with 4AWG and now we all follow like sheep due to the way Amazon links the two products together. 4/0 wire is way bigger than 4. Wire gauges go, in ascending order, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0, 00, 000, and 0000 the latter being 4/0. After rewiring with 4/0 I can now run air compressors and old skill saws. Lesson learned. The Cobra 4 gauge cable kit is way too small for this inverter.Update: It's been two years and one month and now it's dead. Worked great till it died.Update: Ooops it wasn't the inverter that died. It turned out to be a faulty switch. Note to self: check the power to the inverter before you take it all apart. (Luckily it was easy to reassemble). I strongly believe that 98% of people's inverter problems, regardless of make, have to do with the cables and the batteries that feed it and not the inverter itself.

Using this for a backup for sump pumps in the event of mainline power failure. Easily handles two 3/4 hp pumps. I used a 30 amp relay to make auto transfer switch for auto switch to the inverter if power fails. Hard wire it in for maximum power availability. Using one 12 volt AGM deep cycle battery for power. Nicely made, heavy duty. Silent when on stand by. The fan is fairly quiet when it is running with a load on it. Will come in handy in the event of temporary power failure too so I dont have to drag out the generator to just power lights and tv while waiting for power to come back on. May add solar panel later to be able to keep battery charged in the event of long term, shtf type scenario. Using a normal battery charger to keep battery charged for now.

I wanted to hook this up on my Dodge Ram Truck. It has two 12 volt batteries. My plans were to use it to power tools around the farm, and to also feed my sump pump during power outages during the flood season. However when i first hooked it up, the unit kept going over voltage and going into alarm mode. Darn frustrating! The inverter goes over voltage at 15 volts. The voltage regulator on the truck is built into the PCM computer. (ofcourse). Do a search on 'External Voltage Regulators' . There is a website that allows you to bypass your computer voltage regular along with putting in a bypass so that your check engine light doesn't go on, and then you have a voltage regulator that you can manually adjust the voltage that your alternator puts out. I dialed down the voltage to just at 14 volts. Works great, inverter is happy, and now i don't have to keep hitting the reset button on the inverter.

After testing a friends that had this one but a older model I went ahead and bought it to run a 1/3 horse swamp cooler motor which the older did run just fine...The new Model Might say HD but it is just a chinese built peace of junk like the Harbour freight ones...I've found out that the difference for HEAVY duty is that the Inverters are either high frequency or low frequency...most manufacturers have gone the cheap High frequency route but it will not do if you are looking at high inductive loads I can run my swamp cooler with a borrowed old 1000 watt inverter that weights about 12 pounds but cannot with a new go power that weights like 7-9 pounds...explanation below................................................................INVERSION METHODS EXPLAINEDHigh Frequency Inverters (HF)The large majority of inverters available in the retail market are high frequency. Purchased for a solar system. High quality inverter. Shopping was a bit slow but was worth the wait. I expect I will upgrade in the future for a true sine and higher watt inverter. This was a trial inverter to see if it would work for my off grid design and see what size inverter I needed. The biggest concern in using these inverters is that they have to be the only grounding source. They will not play well with a system that has another ground. I recommend this product.

PROBLEMA, la caja llego abierta y SIN CABLES ...

This thing is the bomb, dot com. They say you can't run a computer with it yet I connected my desk top to it and it worked fine. They say it won't work on a guitar amp cuz it will buzz. Tried it. No buzz!! Powered my led 50" t.v. with it. Perfect. Why spend twice as much for a pure sine. I can't figure it out. Did a fair bit of soldering with it. Beauty!! Anyway you cant go wrong with this thing!!!!! Git 'er!!

Works great! I have this hooked up to 2 solar panels and 3 deep cycles. Currently have a router, a wifi booster and a merchant terminal hooked up 24/7 as well as laptop and cell chargers, lights next... Only issue I had was with a small dishwasher and I learned that you may need a PURE Sine Wave Inverter this one could not handle it (hoping thats the issue and not a total power draw issue) Purchased a GOPOWER Pure sinewave to pair up with it. Would purchase again. Very good construction!

This inverter works reasonably well for most of my power tools, with one exception: it is not capable to power Superwinch 1723 AC 2000 properly when feeding the wire rope down, when the motor works against the brakes. The inverter shuts off. I had to by a pure sine model (GP-SW3000-12) for the winch to work both ways. Note that both GP-3000HD and GP-SW3000-12 provide the same 3000W of power. But my Superwinch will only work with a pure sine model. Now I have two inverters.Only 4 stars because of this, otherwise the inverter is good. For example, I used it to cut logs with electric chain saw recently.
