Durability w children? Currently own similar set and the leather is damaged and the pedestal which is chrome frequently needs cleaning..please advise

I bought the cream leather one. I don’t let my teens near it ha ha I feel like it’s quite high for smaller children. I haven’t had it long enough to be able to answer the durability. I bought it for my own use.

When seat height is adjusted, does the foot rest also get adjusted? Or does the foot rest always stay at the same height?
