Perspective and Other Optical Illusions (Wooden Books)

Upon first inspection, I realized some of the material in this book had been drawn from Fred Dubery's fine publication Perspective and Other Drawing Systems. Then I saw the author had in fact worked with her teacher Mr. Dubery, so I am happy it has his blessing.This is an excellent concise foundation course in seeing and perspective drawing (I especially appreciated the inclusion of rare four and five point systems), as well as an effective compendium of other projection systems. There is more substance in this book, more direct visual information, than many other bulkier, stuffier efforts. Why confuse the issue? Get to the point and pick this little book up.

This book is really small, but it is a good reference for perspective BUT you already should know about the subject. Not a beginner book. It has some history lessons in it but I use it to make sure my perspective is correct in my art work. If it was bigger I would give it 5 stars and had a little more info learning about perspective. I certainly need my glasses when reading the little tiny print LOL!With that said I am getting "Rulers and Compass, and "Celtic Pattern" as they also seem to be tutorials on these subjects on how to draw them correctly and how to use Rulers to make designs.

The book is fine for as far as it goes. I was hoping for a book of optical illusions that was mainly pictures and explained what was seen and what some things represented. It is more of ~ this is how the illusion was created.

My nephew requested for his eleventh birthday. He was found under his blankets with a flashlight reading the book. Highly recommended

Great book on optical illusions...my daughter got a ton of great information out of it for her science fair project.Thanks!

For those who appreciate books as beautiful objects and not just for the information they contain, this whole series by Wooden Books is a treasure.

I have spent many enjoyable hours studying this book for my new artwork with Sacred Geometry and plan to add more of the Wooden Books to my collection.

I have most of the other books in this series and they are very good. This one however has some major flaws. The words are highlighted in yellow, some impossible to read and a lot don't make sense. I'm addition the content, though well illustrated, does not not flow well for me.I might be missing something but I would sample before you buy. Thumbs down from me.

Great little book, not too academic and with clear illustrations. Would recommend to anyone who is after a basic but not too in depth knowledge of perspective. Great little book as are most of this series.

Love these little books - they pack so much brilliant info into such a small space!
