This 1997 studio cast album of PETER PAN is a fine testament to this magical musical. Cathy Rigby, star of various Broadway runs and national tours of the show, gives thrilling voice to the title character, and is joined by a first-rate supporting cast.Paul Schoeffler, also a veteran of the Broadway/national tour, is a great Captain Hook, especially during "Hook's Waltz" and "Hook's Tango". Traditionally, he also portrays the bombastic Mr Darling.Elisa Sagardia is, like Rigby and Schoeffler, reprising her role of Wendy from the Broadway/national tour. She gives a lovely weight to "Tender Shepherd" and "Distant Melody". She also has a great voice.Rounding out the cast are Susan Lamontagne as Tiger Lily, Lee Honey-Jones as John, Myles Anderson as Michael, Helen Hobson as Mrs Darling, Anne McVey as Liza, Susan Dale as Jane, Julian Forsythe as Smee and Jenny Agutter as the Narrator. Great product. Great seller. Arrived sooner than expected. My son's favorite musical from his childhood. We still enjoy watching it and he is 23 years old now! We saw Peter Pan live 3 times while Cathy Rigby was leading the cast.

Cathy rigby is fabulous and if you like peter pan you will likely love this recording. My favorite for sure!

I am an old Mary Martin Peter Pan alumnus. I purchased this, partly because I took my grandchildren to a performance with Cathy Rigby. I must say, the recording is delightful. Cathy has an excellent voice (with a bit more quiver than Mary Martin, but so what.) The orchestrations, harps, and dialog excerpts, etc are excellent. A wonderful rendition of the show and the score. I love it, and my five year old granddaughter is indignant when it finishes! You have to get this....

While the orchestrations are great, and the singing good as well. There is SO much talking from the script/lines from the show before each number. I was hoping to just have the songs itself. I'm going to have to use it for my students to learn the lyrics perhaps but find a karaoke version for my students to sing. I wish more of the CD's have sample selections you could hear before buying the product.

We are going to see Peter pan the play this spring so I bought this to get the family ready...my 3 yr old requests it constantly and I'm sure by the time we see the performance he will have it memorized!
