Metal Wax Melting Spoon with Pour Spout

I was looking around for a sealing wax spoon, and finally settled on this one for the price and the reviews.From what I understand, most sealing wax spoons are on the smaller side. This one, in particular, has a diameter about the size of a quarter, so it's perfect for individual letters or spooning from a larger supply. In my experience, I found if you fill up the spoon to the brim, it's even too much wax for one seal - which isn't a bad thing!I don't use this with beads, however. I find wax sticks to be a pain in the neck to use, but unfortunately I have stocked up on them. So I cut the sticks down to size and melt them down in the spoon - it works perfectly. A tea light candle will do the job nicely.Some reviews saw the handle is a bit thin and therefore cheap, but I say it isn't so. One could tell this is a high-quality item just from the weight of the spoon alone (heavy for its size). Rather, the spoon is delicate and must be handled with care, but it is in no way 'cheap.'Compliments to whoever works in shipping for writing a personalized note with my purchase - I love little surprises like that!

I like it! It does its job very well.Two issues of note:1. It's a bit smaller than I expected. I use an oil lamp to melt the wax and though not hard to hold, I can definitely feel the heat when it's melting.2. It doesn't hold a lot of wax. Obviously enough for a decent seal, but not as much as I thought. You should either: a) definitely watch how much you put into the spoon (or how big a chunk as I use original King's Wax Sticks), or b) take the entire stick and hold it to the spoon until the amount you want is melted into the spoon. This way you can also use the stick to help command the melted wax and pour onto the desired location.

The spoon is small, but for the price, and the needs it's fine how it is. Using wax beads, it heated up pretty fast and did it's job well. Like everyone else, I had a little issue with the size. (I have tiny hands for a guy too.) And Other than that it worked perfectly. Oh and be warned, it is flexible. So be careful where you keep it.

This product is easy to use and melting the wax with a volatile candle makes it simple and fast. Cleaning is easy and store in my craft supplies.

a well made metal spoon that does what it is supposed to. A little small to handle, but functional, above average in completing the task it was designed for. a reasonable value for the price as well.
