These are super cute and actually quite comfortable. They are very flat with barely any cushion in the bottom, but I feel almost barefoot and don’t mind that. I wore them for about 5 minutes before the buckle broke. I was only slightly disappointed and just sewed a button on it and put a slit in the strap. Honestly, I think I like them better because they are custom, so I’ll order more, just for that reason.

Runs slightly large and has a horrible smell when new. Tried to air out before wearing. But they still smell slightly.

I ordered a size 11 in both the black velvet and the white canvas. I found that the 2 were totally different products. I was familiar with this type of shoe -- I used to buy them in black canvas from my local Oriental food store -- so I had certain expectations, such as the lack of insole padding, the roomy inside, and the somewhat flimsy nature in general. I was surprised, however, that the "velvet" was actually plastic with some slight fuzzy feeling to the outside, had more of a pointed toe, while the inside of the shoe was actually well-padded but also plastic. Since part of the reason I like this type of shoe is the breathable canvas, I was a bit disappointed. But the shoes fit, are very cute, and I decided to keep them anyway. The white canvas shoes were shipped separately, and were everything I was expecting to find, plus they had more padding in the footbed than the ones I got from the food store. However, these in size 11 were far too large in length. I believed, despite the feminine Mary Jane style, the size 11 actually was a men's size 11, not a women's. Trying this theory, I returned the size 11 and ordered a size 9 (approximately 2 numbers difference between genders in US sizing), and indeed the size 9 fits fine.

I bought these shoes to go with a 50's style dress that is all red. I am very tall and didn't want a shoe that props me up even more, but the style of the dress is unique and I wanted shoes that were too. I read plenty of reviews. I am only wearing these shoes for work--I am a teacher at a college and will only be in these shoes for church and work--4 hours. My feet are super sensitive to heat and cold and I wanted a shoe more fitting for HOT desert heat and a building with an AC that rarely works. The shoes were ordered half a size bigger. They are a bright pie cherry red and fit comfortably. I wear a 9-9 1/2 but ordered a 10 and am glad I did. The tops rub slightly on the arch of my foot, but doesn't hurt, I just noticed it might be an issue for people with higher arches. The buckles feel as if made from recycled aluminum tin--like the old soda pop aluminum that crumbles easy. There are no holes, it's a slip in and adjust type. I sew and might just replace them with a black buckle. They are what they appear to be and they are cute and different. I am not a collector of shoes, so I liked that these lay flat in my limited closet space and take up less room than a flip flop, but are also not a distraction. They are simple, present themselves as such, and that's perfect for a mom and teacher and church. I rec'd them really much earlier than expected! In fact, they came in before the dress! And it was projected the other way around. The did not have an off smell to them like others did. They were just perfect for me and my budget and I'm grateful they were just as others commented them to be! Love that they breathe easy too!I wanted to add this: I have since worn these shoes. We were driving up north to scout a place for the 4th of July weekend and these are perfect travel shoes. I was saving them for work, but I got compliments on my shoes. I didn't know people even cared about shoes :). They were like wearing slippers but cool and I never felt my feet get hot, sticky, sweaty, or uncomfortable. Even my 3 year old got excited when I put them on, jumping up and down, "Mommy red shoes!" And touching them. Simple and comfortable. Love them.

Buckle is sharp

Ive sent them back twice already because they are not true to size. This time they sent some that fit me but the fabric is velvet not canvas. Im not sending these back

I love these shoes, and have ordered them multiple times in the past. The price has increased by more than 2x since the first time I bought them, but I ordered again because they are so comfortable. My complaint is that I order the same thing every time (black cotton) but keep getting the wrong style sent most times. I order the plain black cotton ones, and I've received them in black cotton, navy cotton, and twice now in black velvet.5 stars for the shoes, 1 star for the seller.

I ordered a size bigger, the shoes came smaller. They fit, but i can't wear socks
