After further research I found this particular product, apparently formulated for MB's precious resin material. It has very good reviews, so I decided to give it a shot. I'm so glad I did. Application is very straightforward and extremely easy. The entire process takes less than 20 minutes, including cure time. Even after the first step (Step 0 - scratch remover), the difference was instantly noticeable. After completion of all 3 steps, my pens look almost brand new again and their shine in nothing less than impressive! The instructions warn you to be careful around the metal parts as to not rub off the gold plating but I went to town on the entire pens, metal included. I experienced no fading of the gold plating and the polish removed almost all the scratches on the metal too, making the metal look as polished and shiny as the resin body. I wish I would have taken before and after pictures, but in my eagerness to try out the product I did not stop to think about review pictures. This product is for resin or lacquer bodied pens. In your situation, your pen is probably silver. There are 3 steps to this kit. Steps 3 & 3 could work for you as they seal and polish the pen. However, I would recommend a light polishing of the metal surface with simichrome polish. Be careful of any gold plated parts, as simichrome may take them off you rub very hard. Your pen will look brand new if you go simichrome the steps 2 and 3 of this kit. **Q: I have a white montblanc tribute. it’s a lacquered finish. it has a surface scratch that has removed the shiny coat. will this restore it?** A: Yes this product is awesome **Q: what is the origin of the product? Any harmful content?** A: Not sure about specific origin. Not sure what you mean by harmful. If you mean harmful to the pen, then no. If you mean harmful to you, I mean, you wouldn’t want to eat it, but I wouldn’t worry too much about it. It is a combination of micro abrasives, solvents/cleaner, and a lacquer. There is no overwhelming smell and you are using very little of it. I would like to add that If you do have many micro scratches on your favorite pen, you will probably need to spend some time on step one of the process. The gloss was really nice without being greasy or having a strong chemical odor.
