Great introduction to stocks for kids
Personal finance is such an important topic in life that hardly, if at all, gets taught in school. This is a simple and fun book to teach children about investment options that will benefit them for their whole lives. I'm interested to see the mini stock trading cards that are sent after providing a review, as my son has made a point to tell me about them for awhile

Bought One for Me Too!
When my nephew turned 18 three years ago, the only thing he said he wanted for his birthday was stocks. So I bought him stock in 18 different companies to celebrate his 18 years of life. My only problem was that even though I previously owned stocks of my own, I couldn't talk intelligently to him about the what, why, and how of the stock market. So I bought him this book.....and he took it with him to college. So I bought a second copy just for myself! I love the way that the concepts are broken down into smaller chunks with supporting examples and illustrations. For me, it's a great reference when I need to brush up on a concept or acronym.

great first book for younger kids
Our granddaughter is 10 years old. WE buy her stocks and saw this book and thought we would get it for her. STocks are simply but not childlishly explained. It is a quick easy read but touches on many stock and stock related questions.

Great to teach children
We bought stock for our grandkids for Christmas and used this to explain this to them. They are fascinated with it and love following their stock.

Very good start but needs improvements
I got this book for my 15 year old grandson to try to get him interesting in investing. (4 others grandchildren to hopefully to follow) Many years ago, I was 16, I joined Junior Achievement in High School and learned how to form a company, sell stock to raise capital, make a product, sell it and at the end of the school year close the company and pay investors a divided. It was a wonderful experience and got me started on a lifetime on investing. Sadly there is no Junior Achievements near us and the school system is not teaching anything about investing. After he reads this book and if he takes interest in investing as I hope he will, I will fund a small account to get him started.REVIEW The book spends a lot of space on actual stock certificates which I don't believe there are any companies still issuing them, certainly not for a few shares. Much more needs to be taught about mutual funds which in my opinion is where most young investors should be investing most of their funds, but I agree they need a few individual companies to follow and to grow interest in. I first bought stock in a restaurant chain that was in my area when I was in my mid 20's. It was exciting whenever I ate there to think about how many floor tiles I might own, as it increased I would wonder, do I own a chair yet? Silly I know but it got me excited in my investments. The book needs to include more about limited partnerships and how that works. Perhaps another book on starting their own small company, I have been trying to get my grandson to start his own business, picking up dog waste from neighbors yards but he no interest in that, but I think he could make him a nice profit with that business, although I know it's not glamorous or exciting and somewhat disgusting he could turn a nice profit with doing something homeowners don't want to do themself, I believe.I applaud your effort with this book and hope it encourage many young adults to become interested in investing and running a business.P.S. I'm not sure how this works getting the mini share collector cards mentioned in the book for writing a review but I hope I receive them soon to include with the book for his birthday. Thanks again for your efforts with this book.UPDATE I Lowered rating by 1 Star because I never received the Free Mini collector cards for posting a review. I bought 4 copies for my son and other family members, and I will buy more
I (@tomkozlik) bought 4 copies for my son and other young family members, and I will buy more for others too. These lessons should be taught in every grade school nationwide. I recommend this book as well as the www.giveashare.com service. (For the certificate service- don't be surprised at the higher price of the share certificate when you look at the website. It is an investment in education. Folks who complain about the higher price remind me of the folks at school who complained about the price of the books- very short-sighted. Buy a share or two and talk about and enjoy them and the other material with your kids, family members and friends) This I'm a Shareholder Kit product is a good method to initially engage and explain to young and others of all ages about what stock ownership entails. It does not go into detail about how to invest, nor does it proclaim to be an "investing guide". It tries to replicate the experience the author had when he was young and became interested in the stock market. Includes 40 pages of bright colored and glossy pictures with a focus on breaking down difficult financial concepts and it does a good job of this. Chapters include: 1- I'm a shareholder; 2 Econ 101 (very basic); 3 is Stock Stuff and 4 is Investing Basics. Good idea Rick and I am glad others will be able to follow your example.

Super cool, interesting and easy to understand!
I think that this book is great for mini entrepreneurs like me. I learned so much from it and they make it so it’s so easy to understand the information at any age. I recommend it for any kid who is interested in learning about investing and the stock market.

Perfect for a kid!!!
This book was perfect(I am an 11 year old who read it)!!!! It was perfect for me to understand and follow along with what it was talking about. The book explained everything that I needed to know and explained it in such a way that I don't really have any questions about the stock market besides "Can I invest in the stock market and get a few shares of something?" Great book, perfect for any kids ages 9 and up I'd say(from my point of view)... Any kids wanting to invest in the stock market should read this book!!!
