It Is Really Dense

Saves my wife time when we are in a rush for crawfish etouffee. And she can make it darker if she wants in the microwave.

Make sure you read that it is light. The picture shown looks dark. I thought I was getting the dark but what came was way lighter than in the picture

Wonderful product but the Amazon price is outrageous. It's $4 for 16oz jar in the grocery store.

I was so excited to find this roux at Amazon! I’ve used Savoie’s dark roux for many years—sooooo much easier than constantly stirring a cast iron skillet for 15-20 minutes and just as good—but was unaware that they’re now making a light version. Sometimes I just prefer a lighter roux for the flavor. I used this one to start a big pot of gumbo and was very happy with the delicious results. Now that I know it’s here, I will definitely buy it again.

Just like my grandmother in Louisiana use to make. We used the whole jar with 2 16oz chicken stock instead of water. I had Gumbo for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This was my first time making Gumbo and it was a great success. Man I cant wait until the next pot. Will defiantly use bigger shrimp.

Preferred the look and taste of the dark.

Used for seafood gumbo. Blended well and tasted great.
