We bought these to use with other pieces for coat hooks in our hallway- and they are perfect!

Pardon the mess in the pics since we're about to install flooring and haven't painted the exterior of the island yet - but I think it is safe to say the pipe T's worked perfectly for my application! My liquor shelving is coming together beautifully. The pipe T's are grayish, and should be cleaned with mineral spirits and a lint free cloth to remove the grease that comes on them. Mine didn't have much on them. If you don't use lint free, small burrs will catch a bunch of fuzz which is annoying if you're going to paint. The pipe T's hold together the vertical and horizontal poles in the pics. Mine are spray painted with Rustoleum textured black paint (with the silver label, not the multicolored textured paint) and look very much like cast iron. Really pleased with the results!

I bought these for a three tier shoe rack. I haven't built it yet, but I am concerned by the thin wall of the product. The threads appear to just about come out the metal side. They did declare "decor" but I truly didn't realize consider that these would be lighter than what a plumber would use. I was hoping it meant that they were not covered in a grease like the black pipe you bought at a hardware store. I will report back how they worked out. This will be a auction item for a worthy cause and I want it to last.
