Makes an excellent replacement firebrick for half the price
I bought this mouldable fireclay at the beginning of the summer. I made a simple mould out of lath and plywood - to the right dimensions for my multifuel stove and followed the simple instructions enclosed. The resultant firebrick was allowed to dry for about three months before I fitted it in the back of the fire grid. Then, I subjected it to burning newspaper several times over a week, and then slowly added wood to the feed so that the temperature it was subjected to was increased gradually. The brick is now being used in normal operational use and is functioning well. One can't say anymore!

How to replicate an existing brick x 2
I made a mould from plywood and 4 pre cut battens. Lined up with duct tape. Hammered the vitcas in which takes time and patience ( you will be left with cavities and faults if you dont).Left it for 48 hours whereby it shrinks as it cures and dropped it out into the carpet.Repeated for the second one. These are for the base of the Woodburn where vermiculite is too soft/weak. These are heavy as per original fire bricks.
