Treadmill DoctorWalking Belt for The Merit 710T Treadmill

Suddenly, my original belt started to split apart on one of the seams after about a mile of walking three times a week for ten years.Interesting price difference between amazon and Treadmill Doctor web site. Both seem to have a 2 ply.I had a tough time figuring out how they put the rails together that guide the belt as needed. I was able to run a screw driver down the light gray rail and eventually pop it off. IT seemed to be glued down at one end. Then the rails were fastened with industrial strength staples. I was able to use a flat screw driver and a hammer to pound and lift them out. I only had to do one side and was able to slip the old belt off (removed a guide underneath). I then was able to slip the new belt back in. Since I don't have very good tools, I was able to pound the original staples back in place very carefully. Then the gray strip actually just slid back into place (and the one end that was glued did not fit all the way in), but only less 1/4 inch is showing.In terms of operation, it seems to be a bit more noisey than the original one. I oiled first with some that I had and then there was some included with the new belt. It's got somewhat better.
