PERFECT! Just buy one!
I had a BIG job ahead of me, had to drop 15 conifers (Leylandii) 10ft tall and it cut through the lot in a day. Some of the trunks were at least 8-10 inches dia. no problem. Be prepared to drink plenty :) Excellent ground blade, don't bother with the cheap one's from the discount stores.

Great for one or 2 jobs then rubbish.
When I first used this, I thought it was fantastic, no force needed to cut through 2 inch branches was like cutting butter. But after about the 6th or 7th branch it got harder noticed that the teeth had closed considerably. And was no better than a normal saw. Quite disappointed considering how great it was at the start.

It's not as good as the brandname reputation suggests
Ok so I swapped a no name brand which had come apart for this Spear and Jackson pruning saw as its always been a great name. I'm very disappointed as the blade was both thin (end bent in minutes of minor pruning on a fir) and it's lost its sharpness within a day. Now even cutting through a 1inch branch is almost like using the back of a spoon.Apart from falling apart after 2 days at least the no name brand was still razor sharp and cut through branches with ease.

SAW
Really not tough enough for anything more than ½ inch stems. I found it incredibly hard to get going, and really not worth the effort. I bought it because I find it very hard to use a secateurs (due to having wonky hands) but this was even harder.

Knife through butter
It cut through hawthorn hedge stumps like they weren't there. Cracking purchase, well chuffed. Would certainly recommend.
