## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will I need an additional hose to recharge back thru the pump tee or do you need to disconnect the pump vacuum line and attach it to the can?**
A: Never attempt to recharge thru the pump. No additional hose is necessary if you have a 3 hose kit w/gauges (Blue/Yellow/Red). After obtaining a full vacuum you should Close the valves (usually Blue & Red) on your hose kit then Disconnect the pump vacuum line (usually Yellow) and attach it to the can using the correct adapter for your R-134a or R-12 can. The adapter is used to pierce the can and allows for storage of any unused refrigerant. Open the valve on the can then open the Blue valve to recharge following the instructions with your hose/gauge kit. Remember to close the Blue valve when you change cans or you will discharge the refrigerant you just added. Sorry if this was a bit more than you asked but maybe it will help someone else as well.

**Q: How much vacuum does it pull? How many inches of HG?**
A: According to the factory it will pull down to 50 microns. To put that into perspective, a properly evacuated A/C system should be evacuated to at least 500 microns or less. By comparison, 29" of Hg as shown on an analog gauge (0 to 29") represents about 10,000 microns, keeping in mind that ANY moisture left in an A/C sysem can turn acidic when combined with vacuum oil and prematurely shorten the life of that system. To prevent that from happening, use a micron gauge instead of trusting your analog gauge.

**Q: Is this a one stage or two stage pump? I ask because it say "like" a two stage.**
A: It's a single stage, I've had it for a few years used it about six times never a problem. I have a large car and it pulled a vacuum in about a minute, of course pull a vacuum for at least 30 - 40 minutes, longer if the system has been open for a while. Mine was open due to 3 leaks over the winter so i pumped it for an hour. Works great!!! ac blowing COLD on a 16 year old car. 38 degrees on the highway and 47 degrees stopped in traffic on a 105 degree day.

**Q: Does this come with oil to add, or do I have to buy the oil seperate?**
A: Need to buy oil.
