NIV, Pew Bible, Large Print, Hardcover, Red [Zondervan] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. NIV, Pew Bible, Large Print, Hardcover, Red Review: Beautiful Bible - I bought this Bible to take to my seminary classes with me. It arrived a few days ago, & I am very pleased with it. The cover & dedication page are lovely. It also has a pale pink ribbon to mark your place. The font is small, but not unreadable. The paper is not thin or fragile like onion skin, instead it is more like thin office paper. This makes it much easier to write notes in the Bible & to turn the pages without damaging them. In the back of the Bible there is a chart of weights & measures & the following section of "Bible Study Helps": Overview of the Bible, Teachings of Jesus, Ministry of Jesus, Miracles of Jesus, Parables of Jesus, Life in New Testament Times, & Dictionary. Although there are footnotes throughout the Bible, there are no cross-references or maps. I can not comment on how this Bible will hold up to use, as I have not had it long. It looks great, feels great (the brown leather is soft), is a great value for the price & would make a great gift. Review: A Note From A Survivalist - Prepper. Survivalist. Someone who just likes to plan ahead. I'm "one of those people." Intersting fact: Most people in the prepper community are conservatives at least and usually range from Agnostic to full-blown, washed-by-the-blood-of-Jesus, born again, part of the body of Christ Christian. Yes, these are the same who are continually ridiculed, scoffed at and even vilified for "clinging to their guns and their Bibles." Many will speak openly of their relationship with God and pay lip service to the power of the Word. The thing that confuses me is that of all of the men (and women) I've met who are stockpiling food and water, building bunkers, investing in massive amounts of firearms/ammunition and loading "Bug Out Bags," there is an extreme lack of keeping a Bible in the mix. The way I look at it, our battle is not against flesh and blood. Yes, a gun has its place in this world. But to overlook having your Sword on you at all times is to leave yourself unprotected in a vital area. In fact, God's Word helps me fight the most looming enemy most preppers face...fear. I get my strength from the constant reminder the Bible gives me that my God is my Rock and my Fortress. If any of the bad things preppers fear do happen, I think being reminded of that fact would be something we all would need on a daily basis. As such, I've included several of these precious gems right along with my most important gear. There's one in my car as well as my wife's. There's one in my desk at the office. We also each have one in our "Get Home Bags" (I don't really believe in "bugging out" as anything but a last resort...in fact, my area seems to be one that others intend to "bug out" to). The print is readable, though a magnifier may come in handy for prolonged reading. The translation is as common as it gets and the Truth is just as real today as it was at the beginning of time. I think you should own several of these and take one with you wherever you go. At this price, do you really have a good excuse not to? It comes in handy more times than you'd think.

NIV Robed in Fashion Colors!
The NIV is a widely used translation, which is easy to understand. I ordered this for my young adult daughter, newly married, who wanted a new smaller NIV. She absolutely loved the size, the design, and the modern fashion colors. Since it's smaller (the print is small, yet can be read), it can be easily tucked into her purse, or laptop bag, or kept at her desk at work, plus easy to carry and use at church. I had her new married named engraved in silvertone on the cover to match the silver edged pages. She absolutely loves and uses it. Perfect Bible for the younger generation or for someone who needs a smaller Bible that travels well.

NIV Bible, Hardcover, Large Print
The NIV Translation is my favorite version of the Bible. This volume published by Zondervan is my personal favorite. It is a nice size, and the Hardcover is very protective and is very secure when reading from a study easel. The 2-column format is easy to read and the font is 13-14-Point. This makes it easy to read especially for older eyes. Each Book of the Bible starts with a nice introduction; short but complete for me. This Bible fulfills all my needs: 1. Sturdy and well made. 2. Excellent size. 3. Hardcover. 4. 2-Column Format. 5. Introduction material before each bible book. 6. 13-14-Point Font. 7. Exceptional Value. If you are looking for a New International Version (NIV) of the Bible, I do not think anyone will be disappointed with this volume.

Nice size bible with good font size
I am an older woman getting close to 60 years old whose eyes just can't read the smaller print in other bibles. I received the bible in great shape, the order was on time and so far I am very satisfied with it. I like the size of the font, 10.5, which is not small but not gigantic either. This bible is a bit bigger than the average bible and has silver on the outside of the pages. My only small concern is that the pages are a bit thin and one should be careful when turning pages. I've used a regular ink pen to mark several passages and there is hardly any bleed through on the page. I don't think it would be good to use regular highlighters or gel pens. All in all I like the bible and hope to get many years of use out of it.

NIV Bible
I got this for my teenage stepdaughter who has recently begun to attend church. This bible is very well made and I love the quality fo the paper and the cover. I especially like the thickness of the hardcover as it provides protection to the lightweight pages require. I chose to get her the NIV version, as that seems to be the easiest to read, I may get her a more traditional King James version at a later date, but for now, I think this will be helpful with learning and understanding. Overall, this is a great quality bible, and an awesome value for the price. Both my daughter and I, are very happy with it.

Not very LARGE print for a LARGE print Bible!
This is a very lovely Bible. However, there are some major flaws (at least to me) So here goes... It is the NIV version (which I wanted and am happy about) The cover is very very soft and buttery feeling. It's amazing. HOWEVER, the LARGE print is not very large. If you are looking for a true LARGE print Bible you may want to search for a "GIANT" print Bible. This one is a bit small for me and I don't even wear reading glasses. I just prefer a more comfortable font size for reading. My only other complaint (which is why it is 3 instead of 4 stars) is you get what you see. The Bible is merely half covered in a little piece of cardboard and doesn't cover the whole Bible. The middle of the leather part just "sticks out" and can easily be damaged during transit. Other than the size (which is why I went for this Bible) it is a nice choice.

Great Basic Bible
I have a few huge "study" bibles but most are very hard to read due to the tiny print and tend to be very heavy to lug around. I was looking for a basic Bible with large print and easy to transport at a reasonable price and found the NIV Church Bible, Large Print edition. I bought one for me and one for my wife. My only criticism is that the paper could be a bit more "pencil friendly" since I like to underline and take notes. This bible will take ballpoint pen and soft pencil, but I fear wet ink will bleed through. That's a very minor issue, however. This is a fantastic buy.

Got this in Beautiful Condition
Im from India and i ordered this a few weeks ago . I was a little worried whether i'll get it in time or not . Well i got it within 13 days and that too in perfect condition. The only problem with this book is that its pages are too thin and delicate . One might have to turn real slowly and carefully. Thanks Amazon and Uread.

Very good purchase
I am totally satisfied with this edition. The text is clear and the font is big enough (about 12). No colourful writing which is hurtful for eyes. The book is in perfect condition. Also, it is not too big or heavy. The paper is very thin, but it is fine with me. I am very glad I bought it. Plus, it arrived very quickly.

Better than I expected
I thought the paper quality would be lower (meaning so thin as to be nearly see-through), but it isn't. The large font size and easy-to-hold format is definitely a plus when using it to preach. I'm very happy with it.

Schöne Verarbeitung, ver nice construction
Wie gesagt, schöne, solide Verarbeitung. Schrift gut leserlich. Als Zusatz für meine Studienbibel gekauft, ist halt doch dünner und einfacher mitzunehmen. Papier auch gut (ganz normal dünn, wie es eben bei Biblen ist). Kaufempfehlung Very nice bible, of course, thin pages (it's a bible), typefont very legible, good addition to a study bible, definitely recommend it.

As Described
I'm a bit surprised to read so many "print is too small" reviews, but I can say the print is the most readable of five different Bibles I picked up from different sources to compare to, including one other advertised as "large print", so it's at least within the spectrum of what is acceptable in that category. It's my most-used Bible for years now for a few reasons. It's thin, large print (to me), easy to read, and light to carry. I need to have a specific reason to use another one (study, parallel, etc.).
