GibsonGear PREP-010 Strap Buttons, Brass, 2 Pack

I really like these strap buttons. They're brass, they're rounded ... very UNlike the conical jobs that are everywhere. Nice look and feel. I put them on a couple ukuleles, and so got shorter brass screws at the hardware store. Can't fault Gibson for that -- there are a lot more guitars out there than ukes. These things come with a couple short and a couple long screws. You want a screw that won't split the end block. Hint: pre-drill the hole, too. Be nice to your uke.

One screw is longer than the other, and a different diameter so you will need two sizes of drill bits (choose carefully!)/. Package has no installation instructions but I saw a youtube video on installing a button at the base of the neck, which helped. I have no complaint about the result.

Good looking as I expected from Gibson. I have two Gibson's my oldest I bought in 1965. Only 3 stars because they came with 2 different length screws one which is too long for my purpose of putting it on the base of the neck. I was just uncomfortable with the length. May have been fine but I bought another screw to use. Otherwise they're worth it.

These are cool. I added them to a Tele Mutt. The brass looks good against the brass saddles. Not sure what's up with the two screw sizes, but whatev...easy fix.

I need to add a strap button to my Bass guitar ... for some reason it came with only one. So I will replace the existing one and add a 2nd button like my other guitar has.

I RECIEVED MY STRAP BUTTON'S. I DRILLED A HOLE IN THE FRONT OF MY FULL SIZE ACOUSTIC GUITAR. I INSTALLED THE BUTTON AND PUT ON MY NEW GUITAR STRAP. I AM EXTREMLEY HAPPY. CHARLES ODELL.

these are a nice brass color and come with two different length screws- i used it to add a strap button to my beat up acoustic guitar and it does the job nicely.

Ich war auf der Suche nach einem passenden Strap Button für die Ukulele. Diese kommen ja meist ohne Befestigungsmöglichkeit, sodass eine Lösung für einen Gurt her musste. Die meisten Ukulelen sind an der Unterseite von innen mit einem sogenannten "tail block" versehen, der sich genau in der Mitte befindet und der Schraube genügend Halt gibt. Wenn man mit der Taschenlampe in das Schallloch nach unten leuchtet, kann man das Holzstück sehen. Einige wenige Ukulelen (meistens die sehr günstigen) werden ohne dieses Holzstück gebaut und dann wird es tricky. Das Holz des Korpus ist zu dünn, um der Schraube genügend Halt zu geben und es ist durch die Größe des Schallloches nicht möglich, von innen eine Mutter gegen die Schraube zu halten. Gelöst haben wir dieses Problem, indem wir wie geplant ein Loch in den Korpus gebohrt haben (mit einem Handbohrer) und die Spitze der Schraube mit einem 2-Komponenten-Kleber verstehen haben. Die Schraube wurde anschließend in das Loch geschraubt. Durch den herausquellenden Klebstoff gelang der Kleber an die ganze Länge der Schraube, an den Schraubkopf und in den Zwischenraum zwischen Ukulele und Basis des Strap Buttons. 24 Stunden trocknen lassen und die Schraube sitzt bombenfest! Man kann ein wenig des Klebers sehen, aber da er absolute transparent und steinhart wird, tut das Optik überhaupt keinen Abbruch.Als Klebstoff kam der Krick 5-Minuten Epoxidharzkleber zum Einsatz, den wir schon im Haus hatten.Zum Button selbst: Er hat eine tolle Qualität und sieht viel besser aus, als auf dem Produktbild. Würde ich immer wieder kaufen und auch jedem empfehlen, der auf der Suche nach solch einem Ersatzteil ist.
