Hose easy to install steps water from backing up into house plumbing and there is a county law stating you have to have one on each faucet. It’s a back full preventer and they do work.

These backflow preventers are well made, screw on to standard hose, and do their job well. They provide an extra thick, RED, washer which I guess is supposed to work better? I don't know as I never have trouble with the standard black washers. But the thing to know is the black washer is already in there so if you want to use the Red one, pull it out first. The device does have holes to release pressure after operation. This means you will get a bit of water leaking every time the water direction cycles. I get it, but a good bit more water comes out than I expect, and for longer than it should. Don't get me wrong, its not enough to be a problem. But I do wonder what is really going on. Regardless, if you see a few ounces of water coming out don't worry, its working. I tested it quite a bit with varying configurations and pressures. The valve works and the water that leaks is neglegible.

I purchased two of these. Very easy to install and they work as designed. I spent a long time removing the old backflow preventer because the brass set screw had twisted off. I had to drill it out which was very awkward to get to it. Just make sure you able to remove the old one.

I hope these do what they're supposed to do, hard to tell. But the 2 I bought both leak under pressure. I've used the supplied washers and tightened them repeatedly but continue to get a spray out of the valve when turning on the faucet. It seems to stop after a minute or two but then returns.I'm going to remove both and try new washers but I'm disappointed at this point. I accidentally left one valve on in my garage and it leaked a substantial amount of water overnight. Considering going to a full soldered antisiphon system as I should have initially.

They did their job and would keep water in the hose from being syphoned back into the bury hydrant BUT they reduced the flow rate by at least 25% which is a deal breaker for my use. Very disappointed as I wanted these to work and they seemed like a good solution but with such a reduction in water flow I can't use them.

Easy to install and worked right away properly

These are very well constructed compared to the plastic one I have. They should last longer. They connect fine and work as they should. The only issues I had with both is at both outside taps when the water was running they would make on and off high pitch humming / squealing sounds. Definitely wakes you up if your system is on the timer. I tried purging any air in system, tried turning taps on and off, even tired the tap only half on to help reduce pressure but it didn’t stop it. I ended up removing them from my tap directly and moved them further down the hose to another connection. I don’t hear the sounds anymore even when running when I’m standing right next to it so it must just be the water pressure at the tap causing the problem. All in all very well built but the sound made it not possible for me to use as I intended. But I am using it just not directly at the house tap.
