You won't need it often, but works well when you do need it
This 1-11/16 spanner wrench fits my GE top load washer tub nut. I had to do a major repair that involved removing the tub nut and later reinstalling it. I didn't use the spanner to remove the tub nut because it was "frozen" after to 9 years of corrosion and calcium buildup. If yours is corroded you are not likely to remove it with the spanner; use a good cordless 1/2-inch impact wrench with a 1-11/16 deep impact socket (available here on Amazon). I did use the spanner to tighten the tub nut because cordless impact wrenches should not be used for tightening. To tighten the tub nut on my GE washer I used the spanner wrench and tapped it in the counter-clockwise direction with a 3 lb hammer (the nut is reverse threaded). The spanner wrench looks similar to others sold on Amazon, but the Supco got better reviews for some reason. My wrench arrived in good condition with no visible rust, and worked perfectly for my use case. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Supco spanner wrench.

Must have!
Even a one-time need maintainimg or focing your top load washer and this thing pays for itself. Fit is a little loose but functions perfectly. A few taps with a hammer and off comes the nut.Heavy and durable wrench.

Could be tighter.
I just Jam some washers in to tighten things up. It gets the job done.

More robust than flimsier ones in parts supplier videos
Had a difficult time removing the tub bearing components (need to use the wrench twice to extract the inside and outside tubs and remove the bearings, and then twice again to reinstall everything). It turns out the threads on one component were crossed when it was installed many years ago at the Maytag plant - hence the difficulty. I suspect this wrench handled the banging much better than the flimsier one pictured in the partselect video, a wrench which evidently works if everything is just perfect: no corrosion, no thread crossing, no over tightening, on a never used machine...but that wasn't the case on this washing machine - it's >35 years old. The wrench being reviewed handled the hammering just fine. Problem now: what to do with this wrench? Will never use it again.

It doesn't work. I returned it.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:It doesn't work. I ended up buying a new washing machine.
