Are you able to freeze fruit or other types of liquid and then place it in the ice maker to grind up?

Yes, if it frozen, it will shave it. Cleanup would be your biggest problem.

Do you need a special ice mold for this machine or do you put regular ice cubes in it?

We use regular ice cubes and it works perfectly! Just a regular bag of ice from the store or the ice cubes from my freezer :)

Does it make loud noise while shaving ice?

It's a bit loud but it is extremely quick so overall the noise is not really an issue. I have no problems with it despite being noise sensitive.
