Review: Expensive But Worth It - This really tastes like authentic Swiss-German fondu. If you are familiar, it will have a slight wine/kirsch taste to it. I think you will appreciate it. Otherwise there is a made for Aldi’s 400g package you can buy in store for 60% of the cost of Swiss Knight. But it is a little less strong tasting. I would highly recommend getting a real Caquelon (ceramic pot with heating station) for cooking the fondue and keeping it warm. With these packets it is so trivial, take out of package, heat until melted, then let it boil just a little bit. It should be bubbling in the center before taking off the stove. Paired with some cube-sliced French bread (thicker heartier bread preferred, traditionally it was slightly stale bread from the previous day) and a nice bottle of white wine, and this is perfect. Also in my family we do a shot of kirsch before eating (traditionally kirsch is part of the recipe). You can get a small bottle of German (or Californian) Kirsch at BevMo, but of course Swiss is preferred. Anyways, this package really only serves 2.5 people or so. Make two if you have 4-5 people.

A: No you don't have to unless you open it.  But Swiss Knight Storage tip said:  To extend the normal shelf life, store in fridge.  This product may be frozen and when you thaw, thaw in the fridge.

A: For a snack serves 3-4 people...date night meal serves 2

**Q: Do you carry the round packaging of individual cheese pieces?**
A: You might repackage the product into small containers if you're looking to take bread and fondu to work.

**Q: Is this gluten free?**
A: Hello - Here are the complete ingredients as of 11/2017:  Swiss Cheese (cultured cow's milk, salt, enzymes) white wine, water, potato starch, kirsch brandy, salt, sodium phosphate, spices, locust bean gum.  Pasteurized. Contains Alcohol (white wine and kirsch).  Allergens: Contains MILK. The label does not state any information regarding gluten.  That said, there is no gluten in the cheese, the potato starch, or the locust bean gum (or wine or brandy).

My husband and I always grab this brand when we use our fondue pot. This is the best brand we can find that matches the kind we had in Switzerland. At first I thought it might be a bad idea to order cheese from Amazon- but we have done it so many times and we have never had any issues
