This works really well and totally worth every penny. I was skeptical about these levels and after doing a lot of research on the options out there for laser level, I went with Black+Decker's offering. Very easy to use and the instructions were totally straightforward. The laser level visibility was clear - I didn't have to turn on the lights or anything like that. I give this two hearty thumbs up (and five stars!)

Its a cheap handy tool for me. It helps greatly with hanging photos and shelves. As other reviewers mention the little nail is in the way and pointless. They all mention its dumb to put an extra hole in the wall. What I do however is poke that hole where I want the first picture to go, then mark the rest of my spots. Then its not an added hole, its just where I put my first nail. The thing I don't like about it though is its not strong enough to hold the level in place. I cant place it on the wall and just walk down the line otherwise it swivels on its own or falls off the wall. The design would have been much better with a suction cup or something that holds better.

It pushes nicely into the wall, creating a very small hole pin that is easy to fill when completed. If your needs are very basic, this is probably fine, but I have not really been able to use it properly to hang photos. Yes you do cast a light down the wall, but it’s easier to use a yardstick bubble level for that kind of job. I should have instead gone the “buy once cry once” route and paid more for a tripod mounted level so that I could level from across the room. This is of limited use to me.The device itself isn’t bad I suppose. I just find it a hassle to use properly and should have instead bought a straight edge level, or more appropriately, a tripod mounted laser.

My other one stopped working so I got these one and I have not got to use it yet but look and filled batter then my old one.

I bought this leveler for my husband but used it myself to hang up pictures. I love how useful it is when it comes to lining things up, especially in my case when I was trying to line up 3 pictures on one wall. It has good battery life and is great quality. I found it to be pretty accurate when leveling horizontally. I didn’t try any other directions. The only thing I didn’t like about it was the part (nail) that goes into the wall. I wish it didn’t have to because I don’t want to put any extra holes in my walls if I don’t have to. I also didn’t know that the nail part would flip out so I did cut myself. Definitely a user error but be careful!

The red laser light travels along the surface of what you are against. So many other, lessor, crappy products have the light beam several cm above the surface - making accurate positioning impossible.This unit is highly accurate for leveling (2 bubble level indicators) either horizontal or vertical.Easy to hold, simple to use - it just works.

I use mine (2) on jigs to assist getting compound drill angles correct on my stool and chair seat blanks and these work great for that.

Aún cuando tiene un láser muy débil que con luz del día este se pierde, sí que es una gran ventaja cuando comienza uno a trabajar por las mañanas 7 AM para delinear el trabajo y dejarlo marcado,. Por su precio costo bajo accesible a mi bolsillo bien valió la pena comprarlo pues facilita mucho el trabajo. Insisto no es un láser como otros que cuestan $2000 o $3000 pero sí que ayuda bastante para no meter la línea por donde va a ir la manguera y esta quede la Diana..!
