There is a screw lock on top that you need to turn with you a tile or screwdriver and a spring lock on bottom that automatically keeps the gate shut unless depressed Because of this, you could not open inadvertently. Once your seed is set in the Billfodl, it is not advised to unlock or open it unless you are trying to destroy the seed. If you did open it and intentionally caused the tiles to fall out, you would lose your data. You would need to move your cryptocurrency from the device being backed up by the Billfodl to one with a known seed phrase. Please let me know if you have any other questions! Having capital and lower case characters on either side of the chip was a nice touch. There's nothing flimsy about the build quality and it's rather sturdy.
