The requirements were simple: it needed to be portable, it needed to be affordable, and it needed to be simple. This little guy is all that and more packed into an incredibly small package.The image it throws is crystal clear, and it's plenty bright to throw a 6' image up on a moderately dim room. The compact size and durability of the LED light source makes it ideally suited for traveling. The price was remarkable, at least in my eyes, when thrown up against less-portable, Xeon-bulb counterparts in the same price range. In terms of simplicity, a single HDMI->Mini DisplayPort cable (not included) provides idiot-proof connectivity to her Macbook Pro.There are only two cons that I find noteworthy.1) The case that it comes with is something of a joke. It is a thin neoprene zippered bag, just big enough to fit the projector. Not the power brick and its cables. Not the signal cables of any size or stripe. Just the projector. and not very adequately padded for an expensive, relatively delicate piece of hardware. It just seems to be a worthless gesture to include an ill-suited bag.To remedy this, I picked up a  Lowepro Adventura 140 Camera Case . Its not perfect; i could stand with it being an inch bigger in any or all directions, but it holds the projector (in its included bag), power brick and cables, and the HDMI->MiniDP cable snugly, securely, and safely. The bag is well padded and comes with a pair of movable dividers for organizing. If you do want to use this bag with this projector, I recommend removing one of the dividers, as with both of them in there, it got too cramped.2) The tripod mount is worthless. Actually, dangerous is probably a better term. Given the projector's size, it seems perfectly suited to being mounted atop a normal camera tripod, and comes with a mount that dubiously suggests such capability. The problem is that the mount isn't structural. Its just a hole molded into the bottom of the case, with a threaded brass insert wedged into it. Typically you want to tighten down cameras (or projectors) to tripods; doing so with this projector will do nothing but pull the brass insert out of its hole. If you were to trust this, and not to notice the precariousness of the situation, bumping the tripod the wrong way, or assuming you could pick the tripod up with the projector attached could have disastrous results. (For those not following: the projector would detach from the tripod, leaving the threaded insert behind, still securely attached to the tripod. Gravity would do the rest.)I have no remedy for this, as it is a structural problem, a design flaw if you will. It could be remedied by Acer using a better threaded insert, or even better, using a insert with a plate that would be secured to the inside of the casing some how, which appears to be how most digital cameras work. This would allow the torque and force of the tripod to be spread across more area of the casing, without much impact to the design of the projector.Bottom line, this is a great little projector; just plan on picking up a decent bag to keep all its necessaries together, and don't try mounting it to a tripod. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great little projector *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on November 26, 2011* I purchased this projector to be able to make presentations from my computer or tablet while traveling on the road. I purchased this particular projector because of the reviews I read on the internet (at various sites). It seemed to be the brightest of the mini projectors I was looking at.The Bad: The sound is low and there are now audio out plugs. The fan is loud, but it does a great job keeping the projector very cool.The Good: This projector is great for low indoor lighting situations. It works well with computers and tablets with it's hdmi and d connections. I travel with my family, so this is doubling as a video projector in our rv. I purchased a simple window blind (rolls up and down) at a department store and installed it to the side of the bed over the driver/passenger seats of the cab of our rv. Now, when we want to watch a movie, I just pull the shade down, and we have an instant movie screen. I set the projector up on the counter top, connect the small dvd player that I use for some presentations, put a dvd in and we have movie time. I connect the dvd audio to a speaker strip made for flat screen tv's, and we have excellent sound also.Conclusion: We love this projector! It was purchased for business purposes, but is great for work or pleasure, and is doing double time in our household. I have only had this for a couple of weeks, so I don't know how long it will last. I am very happy with it so far. ### ⭐⭐⭐ good picture, not so good for sound *by T***M on Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2011* The projector is small, well-made and yields an excellent picture. It is strong enough to be seen reasonably well even in a fairly bright room.The biggest limitation of this device is related to audio: the fan is quite noisy and the built-in speakers are fairly weak. Furthermore, the projector lacks an audio output, so you can't hook up better speakers to replace the limited internal speakers. That's a limitation when trying to hook up phones or tablets, which frequently disable their own audio output when HDMI is connected.On the whole, it's still a pretty good device given the price. I think it's particularly nice for small presentations, but less well suited to movie watching (unless you can figure out another way of hooking up audio).
