This Classic version features the first 29 high frequency words presented in the Open Court/Imagine It Language Arts Kindergarten program. With the words written out onscreen and fun movements choreographed to help with memorization, these fun songs help children easily memorize the spellings as they are able to learn the alphabets and begin writing. Focusing on the color words, this CD contains songs that all the kids enjoy and will sing over and over again. The last two songs on the CD cover Capitals and Spaces for more language arts skills. Download the printable song lyrics and movements for fun and active learning. Words Covered Are: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown, black, white, gray, pink, an, at, big, do, down, has, in, it, no/yes, not, small, this, too, up, we, what, who. Plus, there are two punctuation songs: one for capitals, and one for spaces between the words. PLEASE NOTE: These songs are intentionally short to fit the attention span of the average 3-6 year old child! (Many songs are less than one minute long.) They are written to get straight to point, state it in a way that is simple enough for young children to remember, and then move on to the next lesson. That way, if your child's attention span is only five minutes, he or she should be able to learn the concepts presented in 6-8 songs in just one sitting. With repeated play, children should be able to learn ALL of the concepts in the songs quite quickly!

My son's Kindergarten class uses this DVD to learn to spell the colors, so I purchased it when my son was having trouble learning sight words initially. The songs are catchy and all 3 of my children sing them now (even my 4 and 2 year olds)! I highly recommend this for 3-7 year olds.
