SHIVAMPersonalized Engravable Metal Money Clip

There was a time when a fellow could pretty well get by with just a money clip and many men did. Back then money clips were relatively plentiful and many well-made.By well-made I don't mean just well-manufactured but also well-finished, of quality materials.My best clip was made from steel with a shiny chrome or nickel surface. The gauge of the metal was about twice as thick as this money clip which is about half as thick as a cent, giving it nice heft so when plunked down on a hard surface it gave off a satisfying ring, not the tinny rinky tink noise this one gives off.Also, the finish was shiny, smooth, and flawless and because the metal was thick it didn't threaten to slice one's skin or catch beneath a fingernail as I fear this one will.This device is thin and has sharpish edges such that the edges were ground at the factory to smooth them, which grind marks are visible.This device is also too long (about 2", although the 1" width is fine): If I use it, I will likely cut off about one half inch of length to make it more compact and comfortable.A money clip can over time lose its ability to firmly clasp money and nothing is more irritating than for one's money wad to move around in the clip. In the old days the best devices were made from thick metal which would take longer to wear out. The present device uses a clever design to enhance the grip that a normal, folded sheet of metal has and is likely to maintain a firm grip for a long time.Having said that, I wouldn't have purchased it had I known about this design (imagine a Jew's Harp). I don't care for the way it looks as such even though it promises to maintain a strong clasp. The reason being that I feel a money clip, however useful and desirable, is tacky looking enough without an overwrought design.The highlight of this purchase is the very nice box it comes packaged in. It is eye-catching and well-made and reflects very well on an otherwise disappointing product.

This is probably an excellent clip for folks who hold lots of bills as the bending radius on it is over an eighth of an inch (it will hold roughly a quarter-inch stash of bills,cards). If you are looking to hold a thinner stack, please refer to my other reviews on clips.it has lost noticeable elasticity but appears to have much life left. The metal is very thin. Do not expect a heavy piece. Also some users may expect issues with the metal edges on the "inside of the clip" which can catch your fingers when you reach into your pocket.This unit is so inexpensive, you may as well try it especially if you are experimenting with money clips.

So as soon as you order this product, e-mail the seller to let them know precisely what you want engraved. I assumed they would reach out to me, but they did not and instead I received a notification that the item had shipped.I quickly e-mailed them and made a request, which they honored and my item arrived as I expected. The engraving is light, but readable and clean. To me the metal seems of adequate quality, especially considering the price.

The money clip somehow got lost in the middle of shipping I guess, and I contacted the seller late at night after midnight. The seller quickly responded back through email and sent me a new one. The money clip is awesome, I've been using it for since it arrived. Looks awesome and keeps the money tight and safe.

They should've shown a back view. It's got a funky gripper thing that makes it kind of thick, compared to other money clips I've had. So it's less comfortable in my pocket.

I wasn't sure if I should purchase this item because of the too-good-to-be-true price, but after reading other positive reviews I decided to get it. The engravement was just as I requested, and the item came super fast! Definitely satisfied with this purchase. My boyfriend hasn't used the clip yet, but I'm sure it will work perfectly. Quality looks great.

The personalized clip came very fast. However, when selecting the circular monogram, the surname initial should be the largest central letter.
