Tube in good condition and brighter than the old fluorescent tube it replaced. However the starter was damaged.

This is far lighter in weight than another recently handled and less fragile due to the casing being plastic rather than glass. They are also more energy efficient and produce illumination approximately equal to an older 60W tube but the specific advantage is a far longer working life - 30,000 hours is claimed. It has a 4000K 'day white' tone which is less warm than 'warm white' that may have a colour temperature of 3000-3200K but still warm. Versions are also available in several lower wattages and with different colour temperatures ranging from candlelight through to daylight equivalents.The "V-TAC Energy Saving 22W 5ft 150cm T8 Retrofit Nanoplastic Tube Fluorescent Replacement (58W Equivalent Watts) 4000K Day White – Includes Starter" is provided in a branded carton and not an anonymous card tube as was previously seen. It is also claimed that the tube has been upgraded to use Samsung-branded LEDS that are superior to those used previously. LED technology is constantly improving with benefits to reliability, longevity of use, light output etc.It should be noted that it is imperative to use the included starter (or one similar) and to discard the older ballast starter. Failing to do so may damage this tube. The required starter units are typically boldly labelled to include mention of 'LED' - this is not - and should last longer than the older ballast ones that often failed at around the same time as the tubes with which they were used. The revised starters should last longer but are not necessarily 'permanent'.It has an instruction sheet in several languages and the English version is essentially clear and well-phrased, not the usual 'Chinglish'. However, there are some points that need clarifying but the most obvious, other than to change the starter, is to not that the labelled end should be closest to the starter unit. It should work well with any 'normal' tube light fitment although there are some types that may need to be re-wired. Installation was otherwise simple.LED tubes are a newer technology compared with other LED illumination sources but significantly more expensive than fluorescent ones although prices may later fall, have a far longer lifespan and need fewer replacements over an extended period of time. With their lower power usage, there should be an overall financial saving over the life of a tube.

Brought this to replace my old fluorescent tube and I must say that the led version is excellent came well packaged in a sturdy cardboard box and delivery was quick installation was quick and easy just a small point make sure you replace the starter with the one that comes with the light after fitting the new tube did not work straight away but after slightly moving tube around it came on allso be sure when you fit the new tube make sure the end marked input goes where the starter is and it will be fine very pleased with this product and would say it is worth the money

Arrived with damaged starter, not happy, would have returned it but had already binned the box.

This is a brilliant product that I never knew existed. All my lighting is energy saving LED now.Fairly easy to install, check out YouTube for details about removing the balast.A lot brighter than expected, and I am very, very pleased with it.Outlay cost may seem high but you will never need another tube, and running costs will be much, much lower.Well recommended....

So... Truth time... The light was actually the wrong light. I completely ordered the wrong one (all my mistake).However my brother had a traditional strip bulb in his garage that we decided to replace with the V-TAC bulb.Easy to install with clear instructions - and with great results.Bright and White! Perfect for a garage!

Very disappointing brightness for the 22watt daylight tube was more like 10watt not impressed if you need the light do not use these tubes. easy to install and no need to bypass the balast which was a plus.
