I wanted to stop the moles spreading across my paddock, so I put these in the otheraide to discourage their advance and hopefully repel back to the country side.Next day there is a mole hill right next to this device. Looks like the mole came over to see what it is and maybe even mate with it. WTF. 2 days later and 8 mole hills surrounding this device. I have left it 1 week and then paddock is a complete mess.It does not repel. Do not buy. I have now order traps because I tried the nice approach and it didn't work so poor little mole is going to get cut in half by a spring loaded scissor mechanism. Installed this, and the result was an immediate halt in mole hill production. Today the first new mole hill has appeared -- it is 37 yards from the device, which corresponds well with the manufacturer's claim that it is effective over a radius of 38 metres. So I need either to reposition my device (they say tree roots and foundations interfere with its working, so that may not quite do the job) or buy a second one... Highly recommended (and I will update this review if it stops working at any point).OK -- I've learned a lesson the hard way. There was no rain for ten days, so I watered my lawn quite heavily (actually more heavily than I had intended -- I set the sprinkler going and forgot about it for an hour or two). Of course this made the soil soft and easy going for moles and they promptly returned, digging everywhere. The ground has now dried out, rain has fallen, and my soil is no different from the surrounding area, so they have scarpered. So the lesson is if you make your lawn very, very attractive these things won't work.
