You'd be hard-pressed to find a comparable base for the price. The magnet is strong and the arm lock is sturdy. The compact size fits most cnc machines and other tight places. The precision adjustment knob is very smooth. I can dial to .001 increments easily. The design is ergonomic and the functionality is very reliable. It may seem expensive, but you are getting what you pay for. Excellent quality and and superior reliability.

Yep. Noga wins. I’ve tried a few off brand indicator stands and none seem to lock up as rigidly as the Noga while also providing delicate fine-adjust capability. This is the indicator stand I should have bought in the first place.

Bought this for my 1946 10" Logan, it's one year older than me and in better shape. I've been using it for 45+ years and got smart maybe 15 year ago and fitted larger dials to the cross and compound feeds. That helped but still needed to set up a dial indicator with the old school holders for real accurate work, it took a long time and was a pain you know where. I finally shot the lock off my wallet and got up to date. I did some research and bought this one and was so happy I did as a easy set up and the magnet holds great.

Probably the most useful magnetic base on the market. It's also the most popular for good reason. It's sturdy, versatile and all the parts are replaceable. It locks up tightly and doesn't flex, assuring accurate readings. Important note: Noga makes 4 sizes. This is the second size in the model line. Obviously, bigger than the mini base, but its slightly smaller than the MG61003, which is the 3rd model and probably the most common. This one is about 2" shorter and the arms are a bit thinner. I think its much easier to use in tight spaces, than the larger base. Its a perfect match for test indicators and firmly grabs the dove tails on my U.S. Mitutoyos. I own both sizes and use them all day long.

This is my first indicator holder and it seems like Noga is always at the top of the list in terms of what people like. It seems sturdy enough. However would it kill them to include some basic instructions? Like what the fine tune dial will and will not do? Different mounting options? I was able to figure it out that I could only mount the dovetail of my DTI from one end after some trial and error. I still don't see how a Starret DI can be held by the lug back. I can hold it by the stem but that seems to limit the reach of the indicator. There was a youtube video about drilling out the lug back and using the mount tightening screw and a few washers but that can't be right at this price I hope.

Yes, it’s expensive, but worth every penny! I had three “cheap” holders that were frustrating, at best. I tried to save money and purchased a “Noga-knockoff” from a popular tool company. Arm action was good, but the fine adjustment was impossible. I returned it and “bit-the-bullet” and ordered the real deal Noga. Wow! Worth every penny. Now I actually enjoy using my dial indicators and test indicators, instead of dreading them! If you are even considering this, do yourself a favor and get the best instead of wasting your time and money on junk!

Hands down the best magnetic base on the market. I've used many different styles and brands but Noga are the highest quality, smoothest acting and most secure when locked. The "noga style" made by different brands are bulkier, drop much more when rotated upside down on a shaft per se, and do not lock as securely. Trend to have to use excessive force on the lock knob which is really hard on the internals. I've had these for approximately ten years and still work beautifully. They get daily use and are the best money I've ever spent for a machinist/ industrial mechanic like myself.

Top bit of kit. Not the sellers problem but beware Taxes, exchange rates, shipping etc. Cost ended up close to local purchase cost with all the add ons. Works well and pleased with purchase but might look closer to home next time.

This purchase replaces one of the Chinese fake/clones of this gauge holders which are currently flooding Ebay at only slightly reduced prices and which I bought by mistake. Don't be fooled, the fakes are absolute rubbish and I returned the one I bought immediately. Just buy this one, the genuine Noga holder cannot be beaten and it only costs £28 more at today's prices.
