I can't find any info on the power draw in the description.** A: DON'T - what you ask is a fire hazard. ANY corded vac will pull too much power through the inverter, and even if the inverter can handle it your vehicle's wiring isn't designed for it. By the way, of the inverters that promise 250 watts or more, ONLY do so if you directly connect the inverter to the vehicle battery. Sounds less convenient now, huh? It is not a coincidence that vacuums made for vehicle accessory plugs, are low powered. My Subaru for example is limited to 120W ports. If you NEED cordless with power, consider one that runs off "shop tool batteries" so you have a powerful system that uses common, easy to replace batteries (the DeWalt vac is 3X the cost of this cheap thing, and the battery/charger is extra if you don't already have battery tools). **Q: How strong is the suction for this vacuum?** A: - I got mine in May 2016, and it still is strong! Its motor actually has the same HP rating as those of several larger and more expensive units. Frankly, I think it's as strong as my M***e ((name masked for obvious legal reasons, LOL!)) - of course, I do check and clean the seal fairly regularly, and I use it with a "pre-fliter" ((explained below)) plus a bag inside the vacuum itself, rather than relying solely on the included cloth filter since I use it inside the house as a dust-collector for my "creative activities" - which basically means, my hobby of making sawdust ;). But I *have* accidentally picked up some fairly heavy items with it, such as bolts and large steel nuts. The main thing is that it doesn't include a motor-speed controller. I have not tried plugging it into an external controller because, whether I'm using it for hobby-stuff-dust-collection, or, due to it's light weight, using it to do household vacuuming, I *want* it on Full. If I want an adjustable-speed vacuum, or want to use the floor attachment(s), I use the M***e. - Both the inner bag-holder and the pre-filter are "hacks" I dreamed up - I use super-filtering bags in my M***e that remove particles as fine as smoke. But they are loose if just slipped over the port inside the vacuum's body. The hack? Layers of heavy/thick rubber bands - the suction pulls the bag against the "bump" and that both keeps it from slipping off, and also improves the seal between the edge of the bag hole, and the port. --- The "pre-filter" is 2 coffee cans, one stacked on top of the other; the lid of the bottom one has a hole with an emptied cylindrical prescription bottle which is adapted to hold onto the bag and the air is spun by a jury-rigged funnel which opens into the bag; on the other side of the bottom lid, there's a a hole that lets air be pulled out ((to create the suction)). The bottom lid has a ridge on it onto which the top coffee can "nests". Duct tape goes around that part to both seal it, and hold the upper can in place. The hacked-funnel-air-spinner-widget is inside the top can, and the end of a used heavy-duty CPAP hose runs from that collector part to the scroll saw port or whatever tool or hacked "grinding cabinet", etc. I'm using. There is a second hole in the lid of the top can that I deliberately made smallish, and forced the end of the Shop-Vac hose into that, so it seals pretty well. - ANYHOO, the end result is that the motor does not get clogged with fine dust particles that would sneak past, or through, the included cloth filter. - So that has kept it operating pretty well, even when I run it for very long ((1 to 2 hours, occasionally more)) periods of time. - I can't say anything about vacuuming-up water/liquids, though, because I've used my Floor Mate for that. - I bought mine from Amazon Warehouse Deals as a "used" item, BTW, and it's been excellent. - I *have* observed a phenomenon on Amazon where identical items will receive different ratings when one vendor is charging a higher price than another. That's one of the things one needs to watch out for when reading reviews. - I hope that helps! :) **Q: How well does this pick up dog hair out of car upholstery?** A: I bought this to clean my car (its perfect), but it is also excellent for vacuuming cat/dog hair on fabric furniture. What I found is I kept going out to the garage to get it (because its so portable) to reuse it in my house to the vacuum all my furniture. So far really pleased with the versatility/portability of it, and the attachments all work really well.
