WOW. Our whole family are rock hounds. We've gone to shows & bought geodes before. Fifry fifty in luck when cracking them open. I had semi low expectations, & figured if even half a dozen were GOOD geodes, it would be worth it.We broke open the first 10 today, after a homeschooling unit on volcanoes & gem/mineral formations this week. I am BLOWN AWAY.The bulk of them are really decent geodes. Lots of crystals, beautiful formations. But what shocked me & delighted the 8 year old was that we got TWO with amethyst crystals inside!! In all my years of rock hounding, this was a first.Will 110% order from this seller again. The value is fantastic, the kid burnt off a bunch of energy from being stuck indoors because of the covid lockdown, & the booklet that came along w/ the box had a LOT of good, easily accessible information for their age. Super, super impressed. Would highly recommend this seller & item for any rock hound, young or old! Take note other Amazon geode/rock sellers, THIS is how you Do It Right!

I am an elementary school teacher and these geodes were for a grade 4/5 class presentation about learning the Rock Cycle. The geode size and quality were exactly as advertised. There was a small problem with the order, but their customer service was right on it and fixed it immediately. The geodes and the crystal formations inside are as expected, small and clear/frost-coloured. There will not be GIANT crystal formations due to their size and where they come from, but definitely enough that you get sparkle. I always explain to the kids beforehand the specific process it takes to make these, and do so due to that process, each geode is different and may not have the same crystals or much crystals at all. But I present the information in a way that they are still gobsmacked even without crystals, because ‘they are holding something that was shot out of a volcano’ (as one of my students put it). They aren’t all made just that way, but it makes them happy. Thank you Discover With Dr. Cool, for access to reasonably-priced good quality geodes, as everywhere else is too high a price for my wallet!

We got our box and we're not disappointed. I read reviews that said they only got white so I expected all white and was pleasantly surprised with some pink purple and gray and white. They were all Great While we are staying home because of COVID-19 it's been a great stress reliever too. The kids loved hitting them. It was great all around. Will be ordering again!

It was a fun activity for a birthday party. Some were hard to break open and all had crystals but four that had nothing but rock. It is not bad for price but if you were going to buy you would need parental vision and there’s not too much variety. All of ours were the white quartz which is beautiful but we did not get any of them that were “Drusty, Scepter, Agate, or Calcite geodes ‘’ according to the provided booklet. This kit was OK but for future reference it could be better I know that it’s not your fault that the geodes are too hard to open. I give this a three out of five star rating because of the price and amount of Geodes that you get in this kit it is not bad at all. But, as stated it is not a mineral or rock collection starter kit. The booklet does not give you anything about what you are getting. For the sock method I actually used one of my socks that is now ripped and I had to put it in the trash. I tried hitting it softer, but it did not work.

I absolutely love these!!! I recently started my own crystal business and I bought these to play with and get more familiar with geodes up close and personal. I actually got one that was very tough to break open so I saved it for last and it turned out to be a nodule (completely filled geode) and I was thrilled with how beautiful the crystals inside was. This was such a cool experience, and it comes with a pair of safety goggles as well as a little booklet that explains what each geode you find could be classified as (makes it easy to identify what you’ve cracked open, especially for amateurs like myself). I will definitely buy these again not only for myself but for friends as gifts.

I bought “used-like new” and only had one busted geode upon delivery. I needed only 27 for my students so it was fine. My students LOVED these as an end of year gift. We had fun busting them open and the ensuing “ooooohs and aaaaahhhhhs” with each geode. I only wish they were more colorful rather than just white, but I understand for the price!
