Growing Vegetable Soup/Sembrar sopa de verduras Board Book: Bilingual English-Spanish

Seems to be a sturdy board book. Gave to our daughter, the teacher - will see how it holds up in classes and report if any issues or not. She growing a garden with her young students and teaching them Spanish before kindergarten.

We give books away at work and I saw this one and liked it so bought it on Amazon for my grandson. I really like it.

My 2-year-old son really likes the story, but the the color scheme makes the words and pictures hard to see. There are a lot of dark words and images on dark backgrounds.

Nice book but should have been printed on pages with white background. Difficult to see drawing detail as well as text as there is not enough contrast between colors chosen.

I liked it. My son thought it was a boring book.. but then he likes monsters and animals.

The idea of the story is great but the reading of it required greater concentration because each page you have to mentally remind yourself which color to read because it did not come natural. The English is not in the first color you have a tendency to read, so Spanish speakers will probably like it but I did not. The pictures are not distinctive enough.

I bought the Big book version in English to read to students I do gardening with. There are always some students who speak Spanish at home. Lending out this book to them makes them feel more a part of the class. The book is plenty big enough for lap reading for two. I like the bold colors, the simple plot and the encouragement to grow your own soup.
