Everything that I've learnt has been through using these books. Very easy to understand with everything from beginner to advanced.

Good book, but many of the exercises are recycled from and overlap with other books in the series. Probably best to just get one from the series.

This looks just like a compilation of the Progressive Series of books I own - Blues Guitar Techniques, Blues Guyitar Solos, and Blues Guitar. So at this price it's good value as each would cost you something like £8. The conents are easy to follow, with CDs to help you on your way. Takes you through a logical set of lessons to get you playing the blues like you're actual pub bandsman. After this book you'll be ready for some of the more meaty courses or start studying the syles of Clapton, SRV or Hendrix. The only advantage to have the single copies is that they open easily - whereas these compilation books are about 3/4 inch thick and whilst there's a ton of work in them - keeping them open on the music stand is more of a challenge than actually playing what's in them. Invest in some clothes pegs to keep it open - you'll need them for other badly behaved music sheets people give you anyway. (Why don't publishers work that one out for themselves - use comb binding for big books?) If you have access to a comb binder then get this copy, cut off the spine and insert a comb instead.

The book arrived a "new used" condition, with corners bent. The book cover advertises CDs, but they're not included and you can't download them online. Using the access code and a link in an email, you're brought to a site where you and flip through a virtual copy of the book and press arrows to hear the music online. There's no option to download the tracks to study offline. This is not an ideal format for a book costing this much. If there aren't any CDs including, the audio should be downloadable, considering I bought the book with the goal of having CDs, where I could at least have ripped the audio to my computer. Otherwise, the material is great for beginners or someone revisiting the blues after years away (me).
