Operation Gladio

Good reading. Information on the dark side of European Elites and NATO, scary stuff. Fiction and action movies fall way short of these stories in their perverse evil and criminal actions. Of course mainstream media "ignores" these ocurrences.

All I can say is wow. This is a book that every concerned American should read. Instead of the lies told in our schools today, students should be reading Operation Gladio. What's truly sad is that most of Europe and the rest of the world already knows about Operation Gladio. It's only in the USA that we're all in the dark. And you are forced to ask yourself after reading this, 'why weren't we informed at all about this? Why didn't our Congress even have a say (or did they?) in these momentous and horrible atrocities and events that happened in Europe after WWII? The information in this book is why Gary Webb was 'suicided'. It takes a brave man to publish this, and my hat goes off to Paul Williams for doing so. The information is not subject to discussion--everything he says is backed up by the results of FOIA requests and 1st hand sources, all copiousy footnoted. My only caveat of this book is it is incomplete. Sure, it tells all about a specific operation, which, while operating for a long time (and probably still), it is missing the overall picture. When you've finished the book, one is left thinking, 'well, this is obviously the same modus operandi as the Iran Contra, and you can smell the same level of evil pragmatism in the Kennedy assassination (I mean, it was/is the irrational fear of communism overtaking the world that is why Kennedy was assassinated, since he was trying to stop the ridiculous cold war with Russia). It remains that there is still a very evil and nefarious shadow govt in control of a large portion of our foreign policy, and of critical portions of our govt overall. Any concerned American knows there is something seriously wrong with 9/11. Heck, there was yet another consuming fire in a hi-rise building (in Malaysia). where though portions of the building were gutted from the fire, the building managed to remain standing. Heck, you can *see* the naked steel beams after the fire was extinguished. Yet, we're being told to believe that somehow, the steel managed to melt in not one, not even two, but THREE buildings(!!!!!!!!), one of which wasn't even hit by a freaking plane! How stupid does our gov't think we are? Obviously stupid enough, since it's been 14 years, and still there is no real investigation of what happened. And mark my words, if we do not get to the bottom of these evil acts, we are doomed to have them be repeated. If you truly want to know what our shadow gov't is up to, this book is a must read. Just understand that what this book tells is what kinds of evil acts our alphabet agencies are capable of (Of course, Operation Northwoods, Iran Contra, ad nauseum, are excellent examples of that too, but Kennedy managed to nix that evil act), and that they're still out there doing acts of evil, in the name of our country, and by proxy, in each of our names. But if you want to start down the rabbit hole of why the world is such a mess today, this book is a must read. If you care a whit about what goes on in our country, this book is a must read. It would also be an incredibly enjoyable read, if it wasn't freaking true. Every US citizen needs to read this book.

I highly recommend this book for its breadth of information and attention to detail. Otherwise forgotten or unexplained, the author shines a light on many of our contemporary world’s heinous activities and events. He goes far beyond the Vatican in describing the web of international corruption that plagues our societies. He names the players, perpetrators, and organizations. He backs up his research with sixty pages of end notes. He provides just enough depth to illustrate the many connections in keeping with the book’s title and more. The epilogue is a bonus section where he gives additional insight behind the scenes of how recent clandestine American political activities have given rise to a level of corruption he describes as Gladdio II.

Everything you think you know about our history is all lies and corruption . I’ll never believe anything regarding geopolitical news and events ever again from our media. The conspiracy theorists were right.

A very good analysis of the period 1960-1980 of [mostly] Italian subterranean politics. My generation grew up with these news, penetrating behind the Iron Curtain: Aldo Moro assassination, Bologna railroad station bombing, Enrico Mattei murder, etc. And then, the attempt on Pope Wojtila's life. The Italian movies of the era, ending in tragedy and confusion (with images of blown-up Alfa Romeo's, and protagonists shot in the back by the most unexpected friend, still stuck to our brains) without any explanation of why... P.L. Williams clarifies everything that happened then. Why, how, and more importantly, who paid for it. With notes, sources, documented, in a clear narrative. And with a powerful subliminal message: if this was happening then, the authors lengthy epilogue explains, similar dark workings continue today...

THIS BOOK IS A MUST HAVE ... the reader can easily put the puzzle pieces and see what's REALLY going on in this world. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK ... in fact ... I would say ... it's a MUST READ for every American who loves this country and their life.

This book is mind-boggling. I have a total disdain for conspiracy theories, and have avoided much of the literature about the covert operations of the U.S. government for half a century. But the recent chance reading of the riveting book, The Devil's Chessboard: Allen Dulles, the CIA, and the Rise of America's Secret Government, quickly followed by The Brothers: John Foster Dulles, Allen Dulles, and Their Secret World War, led me to Operation Gladio, and it is a powerful eye-opener. I think the documentation in each of these books places them well beyond the realm of conspiracies and firmly entrenched in reality. The bibliographic resources point to a rich literature, which is expanding of late due to the public release of previously classified government documents. Of course Noam Chomsky has been addressing many of these covert operation issues for decades, as did the former Wall Street Journal foreign correspondent Jonathan Kwitny in his two superb books, the 1986 book, Endless Enemies, followed in 1987 by, The Crimes of Patriots: A True Tale of Dope, Dirty Money, and the CIA. Riveting read, highly recommend. This book details events related to the Vatican, especially Vatican banking. Also the Corsican & Sicilian mafias, heroin as a business model, gangs in Turkey, political coups in Italy and various SA countries, kidnappings, assassinations (attempted and actual), secret masonic organizations, Opus Dei, and left behind Nazis organized to fight "communism". All overseen by the CIA. Packed with info, but written in easy to absorb format, short sections, excellent index.

Amazing Ring side view of moral corruption, symbiosis of big states, institutions, which has brought this world to the gates of Hell .Gripping account by author. Must read for everyone .
