How does this compare to Teak or Danish oil for outdoor wood decking?

We do not recommend using Danish or teak oil on decking as such products contain little or no UV protection to protect the timber. The Saolin Classic is a solvent based low build wood stain which is ideal for use on decking /cladding etc. N B: Due to decking being a horizontal surface, decking boards are subjected to high levels of weathering and in particular UV damage and abrasion and as a result decking can often require maintenance coats as often as every year.

I think this is a very good product which I have used for many years, but only with a brush. However, it's a thin liquid which the wood absorbs well, but the detailed instructions on the 5 litre tin only mention the use of a brush.
