So happy with this fantastic book. My husband is remembering his youth there looking at the beautiful pictures of the whole island, areas he hasn't seen since leaving the country over 45 yrs ago. The recipes are very authentic and pictures make your mouth water. The stories with the recipes make this so much more than just a cookbook. This book will make great gifts for any Sri Lankan living abroad.

Fabulous book. Well written and with lots of fabulous pictures that make me miss Sri Lanka. The book is well set out by region, ethnicity, and then of course the authors favourites. I must mention that some of the recipes are off the beaten track and therefore very appealing!

Brilliant cookbook! I love all the stories behind the dishes. From all the regions of Sri Lanka and you learn about the culture as you go through the book. Beautiful photographs of delicious curries, breads and different rice dishes and the people behind their creations.

A beautiful book not only for recipes but delightful stories. I bought this after a holiday to Sri Lanka where we loved the food, all the recipes are the same as the ones we learnt in the cooking class. Beautiful photos.

Like the island itself this book is an absolute gem, evocatively written and beautifully photographed. It has many more recipes than I was anticipating, with each step comprehensively explained. Interwoven with poignant stories of people from all walks of Sri Lankan life, it gives the reader a real appreciation for that stunning island, its' warm-hearted inhabitants and delicious cuisine. It has certainly spiced up my bookshelf!
