Interesting designs, pretty good book overall
Love a lot of the designs, but some are difficult to understand how to proceed with folds from one step to the next - line drawings/illustrations don't always show everything you need to see. The projects in this book use mostly A4, A5, A6 paper, but not US standard 8.5 x 11 inch. However, it's fairly easy to cut US paper to size for these projects. Once the projects are understood, it's fun to come up with your own patterns to embellish the projects. For example, the cover photo shows a patterned paper being used.

Guidebook for Using the Silver Rectangle in Origami
While giving many geometric models demonstrating the main theories, this book details the many fascinating inter-relationships of the square root of 2 and polygons. Some of the older Japanese origamians preferred the silver rectangle (1:v/2) to the square. This book tells why and gives examples. A good addition to your origami library.

Worth reading
I liked the development of Origami models of geometric shape. Instructions for making these models are clearly illustrated and described.

Very well written with advanced origami figures
Interesting unusual origami models. Well written and clear, but do note many of these are complex foldings. Many of the geometric figures do use several sheets of paper which is characteristic of these types of models.

Excellent Origami
Directions and diagrams easy to follow. I love the fact that it is for folding standard sized paper, not squares

Many Model will become quickie Favorites
If you need a quick fold to show off at the office this is your book. Almost everything can be folded from everyday A4 or A5 sized paper so no need to waste time making squares. Some are very neat a quick, like the house with gabled ends, some take a bit longer and involve multiple pieces of paper. The variety of variations on the Cube is a great mental workout. Sometimes the diagramming in the final stages is not totality clear , but this is very hard to do with 3-D models like these and really the puzzling out is most of the fun!!

Beautiful book!
Beautiful book with interesting models. Maekawa's diagrams are clear and easy to follow as usual and I always like his beside considerations. Another book that really explains origami and origami design.
