Bendpak. Top of the line.
Bendpak HD-9XW 4 post lift.I am very happy with this purchase. I did about a year’s worth of research before I bought this lift. I watched hours worth of videos of why buy Bendpak. Unloading, setup, operation and review videos. The only ones that were negative were the ones where it was obvious operator errors. Common sense does come in to play when operating any lift. ANSI Certified.I was very impressed with the shipping. I ordered it in early February so understandably weather delayed it by a couple of days. Just get it here in one piece and undamaged is my only concern. It arrived on a large flatbed truck trailer. He had two more on the truck that he was also delivering. All were in great condition. I have a large backhoe with bucket forks. It was approximately 16.5 feet wide so I spread the forks as wide as possible to get the most stability for unloading. It’s heavy. A little over 1,800 lbs. I needed to put it in my shop with a 12’ wide door opening so I needed to pick it up by the end to get it through the opening. Bendpak ships these like a tank. The shipping support brackets on each end are made of heavy duty welded angle iron. They have a slot on the bottom where you can put your forks close together and it slides right in. Picking up 1,800 pounds from one end that goes out over 16’. Wow. The held perfectly without bending the brackets at all. I was impressed. Being able to put it in the shop longways made the job much much easier. They give you an Install/Operation booklet with the order. Installing it was fairly easy using the manual while watching a good YouTube video at the same time. You really need at least 4 guys or something strong to lift the power side runway. It’s heavy.I used 5 gallons of Super S 46 hydraulic fluid which works great. I’m not sure if the 5 gallon container I bought wasn’t all the way full but it used all of it. There is a dipstick and Min/Max lines at the top of the tank.Mine is 230v lift so I was a little concerned when I opened up the power box where the push button switch and wire pigtail was and saw a single poll switch. Normally you need a double pole switch with a 240 volt circuit. Best I can tell is the push button switch uses 120 volts from the 240v circuit to activate a relay to engage the 240v. I looked and couldn’t find a relay so it must be somewhere in the motor housing. Two hots and a ground. Simple. The welds on the feet are quality with good penetration. The metal on the posts are pretty thick and with the cables running down the middle of them makes the lift very sturdy. The ladders work well and are made of thick metal also. Adjustments for the ladders and cables are surprisingly simple.Other than tools, hydraulic fluid, white lithium, grease for the guides and 90 weight gear oil for the cables. It comes with everything you need.I thought I would be a little bit nervous the first time I raised my car, but this thing is so well-made even my wife felt comfortable standing underneath it.I had a couple of questions and Benpak was there to answer them immediately with friendly English speaking customer support.I am very happy with my purchase and would do it again in a heartbeat. I should’ve done it sooner.
