Catch That Cookie!

I've taught kindergarten for 21 years and have read a lot of Gingerbread Man books. This one is a new favorite! The kids loved solving the clues in the book and then the next day we had our own hunt with clues that fit our particular building. Best time ever!

My class loved this book.

This story about a boy who doubts that gingerbread men can run away is so original and creative. After his teacher tells Marshall and his class the story of The Gingerbread Man, they make their own. When the oven is opened they are all in for a surprise, as all of the gingerbread men had escaped! After a scavenger hunt, the cookies are found and sent home with their kids. Does Marshall think his teacher was behind the missing cookies, or can gingerbread men really runaway?

Catch That Cookie! is a WONDERFUL gingerbread story. I teach grades K-2 and own nearly every gingerbread cookie book that is published. I wondered if I really "needed" to add one more to the collection but went ahead and ordered Catch That Cookie! anyway. It is a fantastic book! My first and 2nd graders loved the story. It flew off the shelf after I read it aloud to them. At one point we had to even draw numbers to see who got it next. It goes along perfectly if you do as we do in our school and make gingerbread men and then have them "run away" for a period of time. Don't pass this book up. It is a must have. You'll be glad you purchased it.

Grandson loves the book. He is 5 and I read it to him every tome he comes to spend the night. The teachers at his school read it around Christmas tome and he asked me to buy it. It will be a keeper.

too wordy

We first read this book when we checked it out in the library. I recently started to collect Christmas stories to read during December. This one was at the top of my list. It was fun to read the book and then make our own gingerbread men. A fun and clever book.

Very cute and funny book with a bit of a twist. A must read around Gingerbread man time at school.

Great treasure hunt idea with delicious gingerbread cookies all year round! A must have book!
