Product Description Both'80s LPs ( Mr. Bad Guy , which charted in '85, and 1988's Barcelona ) plus a CD of highly desirable Freddie Mercury rarities. His hit soundtrack song Love Kills and 1985 hit I Was Born to Love You join his pre-Queen solo single I Can Hear Music (recorded as by Larry Lurex); his UK-hit cover of The Great Pretender , and album tracks that run the gamut from synth-pop to piano ballads to operatic pieces with Monterrat Caballe: Let's Turn It On; Made in Heaven; Foolin' Around; Mr. Bad Guy; La Japonaise; The Golden Boy , and more of the most memorable solo moments of one of rock's greatest singers and showmen! .com Queen's American stock may have fallen somewhat in the 1980s. By following singer Freddie Mercury's lead and embracing more club- and cabaret-oriented music, however, the band saw its international appeal explode. During that era, Mercury also launched a promising solo career that produced two wildly disparate albums, a handful of singles, and contributions to other projects that are documented in this three-disc collection. While 1985's "Mr. Bad Guy" finds Mercury's melodramatic vocal flair struggling to overpower his sometimes patchy songwriting and the dated Euro-disco production of Reinhold Mack, the singer rose to the campy heights of "Bohemian Rhapsody"--and then some--on "Barcelona," his grand, neo-operatic collaboration with Spanish diva Montserrat Caballe and one of the most deliriously ambitious pop albums of modern times. Both are available here in sharp, digitally remastered sound. The third bonus disc gives another broad outline of Mercury's talents, from the rare, surprising slightly pre-Queen (1972) Phil Spector tribute single, "I Can Hear Music" through his contributions to Giorgio Moroder's Metropolis soundtrack, Dave Clark's musical theater piece Time, and the singer's delightfully overwrought remake of "The Great Pretender," a song he claimed as autobiography. --Jerry McCulley

Beyond what I ever expected
Physically, the album cover is in near-perfect condition and the CD has no flaws.Musically, the album features a variety of Freddie's most well-known and unknown solo songs. Plus, you get two CDs that are rare to obtain now. I hadn't listened to many of these songs before, but since hearing them on this album, I can assure you that they are EXCELLENT. There is a variety of dance and poignant songs, giving you a very unique taste of the musical genius that is Freddie Mercury. I'm a huge Queen fan, but I never expected I would adore Freddie's solo music this much c:

I'm really disappointed in the quality of this CD. For the price I paid, the quality should have been better. I won't buy from this seller again!

Masterful
great collection. While these are, for the most part, easily available on their own - it's nice having them in one set. Beautiful music, well orchestrated, well executed.

It's Freddie
Barcelona disk was awesome - Freddie singing in Japanese! The other 2 discs were different from what we are used to hearing him sing but I did like the beat on 'Living on my Own'. Sounded like a jazz beat in there. Definitely recommended for fans.

A Freddie Mercury collection at a great price!
Great collection for a great price. Mr Bad Guy is a pretty good album all round, Barcelona is absolutely amazing and should be part of any Queen fan's collection, and the bonus CD has some early tracks which are worth having and some singles that are as good as anything on Mr Bad Guy.
