Silicone Counter Mat

I didn't know these existed and I have no idea how I learned of them or what made me decide to purchase this, or even when I did so... But I'm glad I did. I should probably explain that I often wake up from a dead sleep and get on Instagram or Pinterest and this often causes 4AM Amazon purchases, made easy by the fingerprint recognition checkout feature that will be the inevitable downfall of my bank account.Anyway, during one such perusing of the internet I came upon someone using a giant silicone mat as a sort of protective clean space as they cooked. Genius! I use a big self healing cutting mat in my craft room and it catches all my spills and gives me a nice confined workspace. This does the same for the kitchen, whether I'm rolling out dough or decorating cookies with my nieces. Silicone is so easy to clean up and it rolls up small so it takes up less space than a cutting board this size certainly would.It's like my handy little kitchen drop cloth pal and I *expletive* love it.

It was nice to be able to put pressure on the rolling pin without having everything slide around on the counter. It is exactly like the smaller baking sheet but the jumbo size. I had hoped I could cut things on it as it says "can't be cut", but the directions included tell you not to do that. It can definitely be cut, as we found taking it out of the packing.

I am disappointed!I bought to knead the dough on itUnfortunately the thing moves when I do making it very hard :(

Overall Thoughts...Size = Just right, not too large and not too small.Stability = Allows for usage and maneuvering without movement. No slipping & no adjusting of the mat.Cleaning = Very easy to clean and wipe down for use. Easier clean-up fror counter too.Color - Neutral enough for MOST color themes and counter tops...Added Benefits = Measuring tool along the border of the mat...Wishes = Could carry HOT items and use with sharp instrumentation...

After remodeling my kitchen and putting a ton of granite counter space in so I would have plenty of room to prep and cook, I realized that I did everything on a cutting board across the sink because I didn't want to mess up my new counters. let's be honest, a wood cutting board on the counter slides around and debris and juices from whatever you are cutting gets everywhere.Then I found these Silicone Counter Mats. These things are incredible. So easy to use and clean, and they keep my counters clean. They provide a solid, reliable working area without the mess and hassle of wood cutting boards.The only thing I wish was that I could get them in different colors, but hey, after all, the color choice makes sense, I am just being finicky.

I am not super thrilled with this, I was hoping to use it for my fondant. I can use it for other things, so will keep it, just wish that I could use it how i had planned.

Great size for my counter and doesn't slip and slide around. Very easy to clean and helps keep messes to a minimum. The ruler along the edge of the mat is also very handy! Overall, great product!

I bought this to cover my new glass top range- which seems easier to mark than the previous one. Only used on grocery days, in a small kitchen where people are inclined to put heavy bags until they can be put away. Less counter space means "Any port in a storm" hence, a handy shelf while unloading the car. This works extremely well and can slide on top of my Microwave when not in use. It protects my stove top and keeps it looking scratch free - also nice in a smaller kitchen.
