My contractor lost the remote that came with our Velux, so I bought this as a replacement. I have two other Velux opening skylights, and I really like the Velux Kli110us because it is much simpler to use than the remote that comes with the windows. It's battery powered and simply mounts on the wall with a couple of screws. I didn't give 5 stars for two reasons. First, it was pretty hard to set up initially. We eventually climbed up and found a little button on the window we had to push to link it to the remote - after fooling with it for an hour. Also, as far as I can tell it only opens and closes - I wish there were a setting whereby it would close automatically after a few hours. But, overall, it does the job. In fact, I'm buying my second Velux Kli110us remote right now to replace the complicated remote.

If you have two skylights, you can program a single remote to operate both.Works well as the remote you must use with a Velux skylight, but seriously overpriced for very basic functionality: make sure you don't loose it!The accompanying video shows the results of the remote activation of the shade and the remotes three functions (open, close and stop).
