Japanese Happy New Year Barbie 1996 2nd in Limited Edition Series

I gave it as a gift. Came as beautiful as I imagine and well packed! It was just lovely!

This is the second edition of the Japanes Happy New Year Barbie. It is presented in a very nice display box with extensive information on the Japanese New Year tradition. Very nicely done.The doll itself is striking. And the kimono very fetching and authentic in detail. I would have preferred her hair done in a more traditional fashion for an adult. I understand that wearing the hair down was for young girls; so it is acceptable as far as being authentic is concerned, but the womens elaborate hair-dos are so beautiful.I like the first edition doll better because of the red kimono. The pink is pretty but somehow when I think of the orient, I think of that lovely true red that is so often seen in the clothing. If you are looking at this doll, you might try to find the 1st edition and compare them. This was a gift to my granddaughter who just loves pink, so it was better for that reason, but personally, I like the red better.

I'm a lover of japanese cultcure, so I had to have this doll. It's beautiful and perfect for Barbie collectors!

The case had some dents and did not look fresh, the doll is pretty and makes a good gift

She is as beautiful as the cherry blossoms.

Bought this for my granddaughter, but it is too nice to subject to that kind of abuse. Maybe in ten or fifteen years.

Steffy doll in a kimono. Another limited edition version of Osbogastsu Japanese doll. Does not look remotely Asian.
