Great product

Very easy to use. Make sure you check your parameters always before adding anything to your saltwater aquarium. Check the parameters again after a hour to make sure that nothing increases too much. I put mine in the return side of my sump. I replace when the block is gone. I still do water changes, but no longer weekly..now every other week. My corals are still thriving and I am going to have to frag or upgrade my tank soon. I cannot say that it has an impact on growth for sure or not, but I haven't seen any I'll effects.

It’s like a vitamin for the tank. I don’t have to remember to dose supplements, keeping some in the dark and some in the fridge. I don’t have to remember which additives I already used or using too much. Knock on wood I’ve been running a mixed reef for 10 years now. Love my 28s!

If you have a salt water aquarium, and are lazy about additives, order this product today!!!!! I set up a 36 gallon cube as a quarantine tank and it slowly became another reef tank (friends giving frags away and you cant resist). It is a slow release cube that you only have to replace when it dissolves. I am pretty meticulous about my large display tank but these blocks really do a great job and is perfect for beginner hobbyists. And you can not over dose the tank which is a big plus.

I noticed a instant jump in calcium inha e about 200 gallons of water volume and a single brick will completely dissolve in about a week to two weeks. I would add too many at one time. Just try one brick and test calcium every couple days to gage the increase. I didn’t see a big increase in alk and mag just calcium. Place it in a location where it’s easy to remove. The small the brick gets the more brittle it becomes. I don’t test for the lower trace elements but I have seen any issues. I’m almost finished with my first box that I purchased almost a year ago. I’ll probably buy another once this is finished. I don’t do many water changes . I also don’t have any across, just softies and some anemones with plenty of fish.

I’ve used this product with great success for ~ 10 years. I have. Found that this works best for maintaining. If you setting up a new reef test for trace elements frequently with a Nutrafin Saltwater Master Test kit and add individually to get the level where you want them. Then use these blocks to maintain. Continue checking when you do water changes (I only do 10% monthly with great success for a decade [very light fish load]) and add what is needed as needed. You’ll seldom need anything with these blocks.
