Dust-free solution to cutting fiber cement siding.
I wanted to install fiber cement siding on our house, but hesitated when I read about the dust issue. I have a full beard, and a respirator would do me no good. I decided to order these shears, and I have been pleasantly surprised by how well they work. I attached the shears to an old Black and Decker corded 3/8" drill we had and they work very well. The shear attachment is well made and sturdy. It is slower than using a circular saw, and that takes a little getting used to, but the trade-off is that there is no dust being kicked up into the air. I find the shears easy to control, and easy to follow pencil lines on the siding. By the way, I cut the siding from the back for a cleaner cut. It's even possible to cut curves with these shears. The only possible shortcoming of this product is that there were no instructions in the package on how to attach it to your drill. I referred to an online video just to make sure I had attached it correctly. Well worth the price, especially to avoid the dust that saw blades produce.

Makes the job less messy.
These work well for cutting cement board siding without making a lot of dust. However the fit on the drill is not great so you have to keep an eye on them or the unit slides off.

Very nice and handy tool.
I am re-siding my house with Hardie Plank, and have found these shears to be a really great tool. Virtually no dust (silica dust is very dangerous), they do a great job, and make siding a house easier, simpler and safer.I experienced what others mentioned about the drill chuck loosening. That is not the fault of this tool - it is the fault of the drill. Mine even loosens periodically when using just drill bits. I found with this tool that if I get my drill chuck very tight, on low speed, before attaching the tool's drill body brace, that the drill chuck will loosen less often. On the rare occasion that it does loosen, I swing the drill body brace out of the way (so I can get a really good grip on the drill chuck), get the drill chuck really tight again, then reattach the brace.I have found that if I measured too long, I can actually go back and trim 1/16-1/8" off of the cut end. I haven't tried cutting any curves with mine, since I also have carbide jigsaw blades for that task. With my 18v Ryobi cordless drill, I can run this tool all day long on one battery charge.Unless I was a professional doing siding every day, I wouldn't waste my money on a dedicated cutter. This tool works just fine, and I saved a bunch of money, plus I can use my drill as a drill too, which you can't do with a dedicated cutter.

when I installed it on my Milwaukee Hole-Shooter drill motor then the tool worked like a champ
Updated Review: 6/28/18 I have now used this tools for some number of hours. Was four Stars but I am compelled to now give it five Stars, see below on four-star review. This is much better than scribing and snapping the concrete siding board. Cleaner and faster. Easier to handle by one's self than snapping. The big thing about the Milwaukee hole shooter motor is it is much slower due to its heavy gearing to slower thus higher torque drive. The DeWalt was just too fast to control running the tool down the cut line. This is definitely a tool to buy to do say a one house project.Four stars because it really won't work with my DeWalt 18v driver. The DeWalt just didn't have enough power to get through the cement board with ease. Also, the clamping mechanism seemed awkward on the DeWalt. However, when I installed it on my Milwaukee Hole-Shooter drill motor then the tool worked like a champ. The Hole-Shooter is a much more powerful tool. The clamping mechanism works far better on this tool as well. So if you don't want to scribe, snap and file the cut edge on the cement siding board then this tool may be a good option. If your going to do a lot of siding then this is good. Not sure I would buy it again for the one house I am doing based on what I know now. I am kind of a tool-guy so I thought I would give it a go. I am sure it will help but I could have just used to old method for this project.

Not my idea of a precision tool, NOT.
I am super aggravated with this POS. I installed it (correctly) on a DeWalt 20V cordless power driver, ran 5AH batteries, and began my work on 8 inch 5/16 HardiPlank. The first 10-12 cuts went fine, nice edges, straight line. By the 30th cut, the damned thing was skewing off the cut line, trashing the edges, and cracking the entry and exit cuts. Didn't matter how it was aligned or connected to the driver, it was ruining my edges. The remnant pile was growing, as was my frustration. If I hadn't purchased from Amazon months ago, it'd be on the way back. So, instead, I'm shipping it back to Malco, with this review. I don't care if they squawk, refuse to fix it, or go fly a kite. My guess: The blade was never properly tempered, beveled, maybe both. STAY Clear of this thing - it ain't worth the good coin they demand. Going to purchase a proper pro tool, but it won't be Malco product!!

Were dull and wouldnt cut in a little over a month.
Wasn't the best purchase I've made but not the worst. Dull in no time. Out of my 30 day return. Ended up in the garbage. Worked good while they lasted. Wouldn't buy em again though.

Great product - no hazardous dust like from a circular saw
The only bad rating this product got on Amazon.com was from a buyer who didn't get his product promptly; that's not really a review of the product and shouldn't be posted. This product is well made, like all MALCO products I've used. It's for the commercial tradesmen and therefore will last a long time. Uses ball bearings and has a heavy duty vinyl shield to protect the front/chuck of your drill. It easily fits any normal corded/cordless drill (I use mine on a Makita 14.4v and a Bosch 14.4v cordless. I've also attached one to a Milwaukee corded drill. You can cut circles or squares and do very tight areas; something you CAN'T do with a circular saw; and you don't have to worry about your lungs breathing in all that cement laden air.
