Brand New Tested Mullard Reissue GZ34 / 5AR4 Vacuum Tube

Aah... Mullard... What's not to love about a Mullard tube? Beautiful warm and balanced sound! It got this one for my vintage (updated) Dynakit (Dynaco) ST-70 tube power amplifier for the rectifier tube. Works like a charm, no noise, excellent sound at all volume levels. I now have all the tubes in my ST-70 from Mullard and couldn't be happier!

For a number of years, I've been rolling tubes in my audio amplifier, looking for the best combination. The 5AR4/GZ34 tube has been replaced with many different ones, over time. After maybe six years or so, I've finally settled on a nice pairing of tubes by different manufacturers. For the GZ34, the Mullard reissue wins, without question! It provides excellent clarity with a clean bottom end.The only complaint I have is, my first Mullard tube only lasted a little under six months. But, in all fairness, I have this amp on about 12 to 16 hours a day, almost every day. I work from home using this amp and also use it for recreation, streaming video and listening to music. My tubes get a ton of use!Since my last Mullard failed, I've now replaced this tube. I'm curious to see how long the replacement lasts.
