The Little Prince 70th Anniversary Gift Set Book & CD

This was one of my daughter's favorite books as a child. It is a classic! She asked for a new copy of it for Christmas because something happened to the copy she had. She was very excited to see that I got the anniversary edition that had the CD with it. She is also a fan of J. R. R. Tolkien, so when she saw that Viggo Mortensen was the narrator, she said "It comes with a CD... AND Aragorn will read it to me?!" It is a nice hard cover book with the original looking art — as it should be.

I purchased this book with the companion CD for my son. He read along as he listened to the narration. He ended up reading the entire book in one day. I know it’s not a very lengthy book, but he is not very keen on reading, so I was surprised when he finished the book so quickly. I love that the book and CD is enclosed in an illustrated cardboard sleeve. This is something that I will keep for many years. Hopefully one day he will pass it on to his children.

Fantastic Gift Set! I purchased The Little Prince 70th Anniversary Gift Set for father about 4 months ago for his birthday. He absolutely loved it. The Little Prince is his favorite children's book and this gift was perfect for him. After seeing the way he loved the book, I purchased this set for myself. As an educator, this is a great book set to use in the classroom. The book itself is hard backed, and durable, which is good for little hands. The set also comes with and audio cd which is perfect for young and old to listen and follow along with. It is all packaged in a nice, foldable case, which makes for great storage and looks great. First, let’s begin with the print book. It is tasteful and artistic, and the outer cover uses some classic illustrations. The inside of the book should look familiar to most who have already read the book, and the pages have a nice glossy feel to them. It is almost like reading a picture book.The secondary compartment contains a CD with an audiobook of the text. Perhaps in a reprint, a digital download code would be suitable as it would allow people to listen to the book on their smartphones more easily. With some software, the CD can be encoded into an iTunes format audiobook (m4b). Specifically, Audiobook Builder by Splasm is a great program to simplify this. But I digress. Viggo Mortenson’s narration is captivating, and very enjoyable.This makes a great gift, either to someone else, or to you, or to the child you once were.

This story has touched the hearts and imaginations of our family for generations. Now that our children have the CD's to read it to them in the car or other "wait" places they love this story more. Bought two of these as a part of gifts for a friends young child and my own nephew. This is one of the great stories for parents to read to their kids. It's great because while it teaches the child hearing it a lot of great lessons it also teaches the adult reading it about the value of thinking and being like a child.I can't speak to the translation here like others have but it came in good condition and with the audio book narrated by Vigo Mortinsen. I thought it made for a great gift and for the price would definitely recommend it.
