they sound pretty good for the price
they sound pretty good for the price, but the construction is a new level of cheap, they not only use cheap plastics but very thin cheap plastic, also they look like closed cans, but don't expect ANY kind of sound isolation

These sound decent enough for the price. However, their construction just feels cheap. I bought a cheaper pair of over-the-ear Sony's, and they seem like a much higher-quality product. Would not buy these again.

High quality 40mm drivers for not much money.
SONY Stereo Headphones White MDR-XD150/W, by Sony.The cheap plastic construction hides some high quality 40mm drivers at a disposable price. The sound is excellent, and comparable to headphones costing $100 or more. Younger listeners may find the treble a bit too bright, but for us older folks, a flat setting is perfect. The cord is not user replaceable without soldering a new cord to the drivers (heavier replacement cords are sold on Amazon: FidgetGear 3.5mm Jack DIY Earphone Audio Cable Headphone Repair Replacement Wire Cord; and UKCOCO 1.5M Earphone Repair Cable LC-OFC Anoxic Copper Audio Wire Extension Cords DIY Headset Headphone Maintenance Wire with 30 Cores). The ear cup covers can be sweaty after an hour or so, but furry replacement covers are available on Amazon (YXMIWQYA 1 Pair Velvet Replacement Ear Pads Foam Earpads Cushions Pillow Earmuff Cover Cups for Sony MDR-XD150 Headphones). At this price, you can keep a few pairs of these headphones around the house without losing a lot of sleep, worrying that they might get broken or "lost".
