My saga of the TriLok ankle brace - Be patient, it will work! Heel pain GONE!
First off, the brace seems to work GREAT but the instruction video was hard to find for me.As for me I have been having pain in the right side of my right heel which lately has moved also to my left heel. My right calf is also tight and my foot began to rotate out. Definitely some tendon issues, but I'm not a doctor or medical professional, I just don't like to to go to doctors cuz I'm a dude.I have a job that has me on my feet walking all day and I need my feet to work!. I got this brace to try to straighten everything out from my ankle down. It seems supportive enough from the description so, off to measure and order. As I opened the package I immediately starting looking for the instructional video link. The QR code on the instruction manual (pictures only) links to the exact same manual I am holding. Not very useful. I miss instructions with words! I'm plotting how to return the thing at this point as my hope is dying, but I soldier on.The website for the instruction video on the customer service page in the box leads to a page that says the page you are looking for does not exist. However, I am at least on BioSkin's web site. I managed to find the product (TriLok ankle brace) and once you open that page scroll down for the instruction video. There are two videos for the right and left foot. Carefully, I go on to the video (right foot for me). While following the instruction video was hard (lots of pausing) it was much more helpful than the manual. And eventually, (about 20 minutes) i managed to put on the brace. Hope returns!Once on, I started to walk around my house. The difference was immediate as I walk straight floors and navigating the stairs in my house. Pain free as I stroll towards my victory pee! I can't wait to try this brace out in the world. Hopefully, I can provide an update. In closing, while BioSkin may not be able to use the internet as well as they could, they know how to build a brace and make an instruction video. Although its pricey, it works and seems well engineered as it boosts my tired tendons.Just block out a LOT of time and use a lot of patience to put on the brace, use the instruction video and it will become possible to put the brace on correctly. If I can do it, so can you!Good luck all!!

Physical therapist/mom approved!!
After my very active and athletic 12 year old severely sprained his ankle on a bad landing from a layup, I was eager to get him off the crutches (once I finally took him to get X-rays almost a week later after a very colorful ankle made me question whether or not my 17 years of clinical experience as a physical therapist had failed me in assuring myself it was not fractured...it was not). I have recommended and been pleased with several off the shelf ankle braces with patients and athletes over the years, all of which were re-scrutinized when it was my son that was injured (why you should never treat family!). He has really high arches and custom orthotics and the severity of his sprain really had me concerned about being able to adequately stabilize his ankle AND get him off the crutches in a timely manner in order to avoid secondary issues with immobility of his ankle (he could move it up and down with very little discomfort, but had landed on the outside of his ankle, stretching all of the ligament structure). I liked the compression of this brace and the very thorough strapping abilities, so I decided to give it a try. He was able to read the directions and apply the brace himself. The first try took 2-3 minutes, the second time took less than a minute. The brace is comfortable for him, which I was worried about with his high arches, and it offers CRAZY good medial/lateral (side to side) support, but still allows for sufficient up and down ankle movement. I could hardly generate any side to side movement by passively trying to move his ankle in this brace=very impressive! By the time he took the brace off 2-3 hours after the initial use, his lingering swelling had almost disappeared. 2 days later, I was having to explain to him why he could not play in his weekend basketball games. I have my criterion for letting him return to play basketball, but am amazed at how well this brace performs and how quickly he transitioned off the crutches. This brace is well worth the money and fits up to 2 subsequent shoe sizes (he hasn't hit his growth spurt yet and plays several sports), it fits in his shoe (Nike Free) with his orthotic, it's comfortable, and it does exactly what he needs it to do. As a mom and as a physical therapist, I couldn't be happier with this brace.
