This elegant Tam is of high quality and adjusted to comfortably fit my XL size head.

The tam came on time and in good condition. However, the way it was shipped was not great. It was in a flimsy clear plastic with an address sticker on the outside. Luckily it did not rip open, as it looked like it would be easy to do. Should have been in an outer packing envelope. The product is good quality.

Looks great, feels and looks like a quality product without the heavy cost of some of the name brands.

My doctoral regalia is high quality (and expensive) since it is the official University of Arizona regalia in the deep blue color with red piping. The tam that came with the robe and hood was a very nice 6-sided one that matched the color of the robe. Unfortunately, someone stole it from inside the garment bag while I was at the post-commencement reception last year and I had to look for a replacement. The genuine replacement was well over $100, so I thought I'd give this a shot just to see if it would suffice and save a lot of money. Wrong idea. This tam is small in size compared to my prior one, so flimsy it sort of droops all over my head, has a cheesy tassle and a cheap, poorly designed Velcro sizing mechanism. I guess you get what you pay for, so I'll bite the bullet and go back to the original company despite the steep price.

I'm a faculty member, so have to attend ceremonies regularly. I bought a royal blue tam a few years ago and it was HUGE. I attended a number of graduation ceremonies looking more ridiculous than usual. Finally bought this tam which is a much more reasonable size. I still look like a doofus wearing all of this stuff, but not as much of one. And no, I'm not going to post a before and after photo, so don't ask.

I got 17 years out of my old tam. This one will be good for maybe 3 or 4, but hopefully that will be enough.
