I did not realize that the color of the liquid was red when I ordered it, however, at the time of bleeding the brakes, I realized that it worked to my advantage - opened the bleeding screw for every wheel and pumped the brakes until I could see the red fluid flow out. I am going to switch the color of the fluid every change from now on because it makes it easy to know that all the old fluid is out. The expiry date was a year old exactly, which is ok, but one thing that disappointed me was that a little fluid had leaked out even though the seal was intact - brake fluid is hygroscopic, which means it absorbs water from the atmosphere and deteriorates. Having a proper seal is very important to maintain fluid quality.
